Radiator change

Featured Replies

This week I found my car decided to make a puddle of coolent underneath the car. Looking underneath it seamed to be dripping from the front bumper so I'm guessing the radiator is leaking (can't see properly).

Bought one today, so wondering how easy is to change? I've read you have to remove a headlight, Is it one by the battery or one by belts, there was a bit of confusion in the thread I read.

Front of the car has to come forward so bumper off and release the lock carrier. Slide the front forward and it slides out the back.

Thanks. I'll have a go this weekend.

PS. Just noticed this in the wrong section, I thought I posted in Fabia I. Mods please move.

Yeah, slightly wrong spot...

I saw the title and assumed it was replacing a leaky rad in a bedroom :D

still probably wouldnt have been as useful as others around here though!

I think a household radiator is far easier to change than one on a car!

Getting stuck.

What do you mean by lock carrier. and why do you have to remove a headlight? I've removed the battery for better access.

You don't have to remove a head lamp or the battery.

The lock carrier is the slam panel/front assembly.

The black bit that holds the cooling pack.

I managed to remove and replace my non aircon 1.4 mpi radiator without removing anything else at all

Not surprising it's 3/4 the size and doesn't have twin fans or a condenser in front of it.
