Service Book

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I just picked up my new Yeti and I don't have a service book, in my 14 plate one I had a Electronic Service Book wallet with a sticker with chassis number and build details stuck on it.

Should I have got that with the new one or have things changed? Anyone with a new Yeti confirm what they got?

Many thanks.

No service book issued as standard now.
You can ask for a folder that all service records can be stored in.

Many thanks :)

There is a sticker near the wheel well that gives the lists of all the build details relating to your vehicle.

Only if your dealer has been bothered to attach it there! They are often overlooked if the dealership is busy with many PDI's to do.

Two of those stickers come with each vehicle. They are normally attached to the original paperwork from the factory and the dealer should, at PDI, attach one in the rear wheel well as you say. The other is for attaching to the (previous) Service Record booklet. I presume that it would now be attached to the folder that Urrell has already mentioned.

They are quite important, these stickers. They give the paint code for that vehicle and a full list of "Option Codes" that relate to the factory build specification. Interrogating these codes enable you to see what original equipment the vehicle was built with. Along with the engine and transmission type codes. Very handy to know on occasion should a common fault occur on a particular engine / transmission type.

Should you wish to know what the codes are on your vehicle. Type them in HERE and it will tell you what all your codes mean.

Hope some of this helps........................Tony

PS: Just in case you are interested and want to know what the stickers look like. This is a picture of the sticker that came aboard "Tigger"

Just as an example. Typing them (E0A;1D0;5SJ;5RC;1KD;6FF;1AT; -  just some of them to keep this short!)  into the decoder translates them as:

E0A = No special edition - 1D0 = Without trailer hitch - 5SJ = Left exterior mirror: convex - 5RC = Right exterior mirror: convex (modified viewing field) - 1KD = Disc brakes, rear - 6FF = Body-colored exterior mirror housings and various add-on parts - 1AT = Electronic stabilization program (ESP)

Many thanks for your reply. I have the one in the wheel well but not another as I don't have a paper service folder.

I get a full service record printout from day of delivery each time the car is serviced. Just keep them in the car docs folder.

The vehicle data sticker only lists a limited number of options, ie 45 in the one posted above. The complete list for my Yeti - which my dealer printed off for me, lists 208 along with their descriptions.

I got one when I received the car in July. It has the vehicle data sticker on 1st page, the terms of Skoda warranty and mobility warranty and a table with fixed and flexible service warranties.

If you want you can buy a generic service book from Amazon for approx £5....... If you don't use a Skoda dealer it would be worth it.
