What Fuse?

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm planning ahead, looking forward to my new L&K and want to get a Piggy Back Fuse Holder so I can wire in a ignition live feed for a dash-cam. I want to get all of the bits before my Yeti turns up so I can play straight away.

Can anybody advise what size the blade fuses are in the current build of the L&K please?

Many thanks

NO!  They are standard blade fuses.....  the advert states that MINI ones are also available,  but the Yeti has standard blades in this location.  The instructions on your dash cam will tell you what  fuse rating is required for your particular unit,  depending on its current draw requirement.

Ok thanks for the information 👍. However with my dash-cam and the hardwire kit there was no manual provided for the Hardwire-kit and I can't find any information about the fuse size with the cameras manual.

The camera in question is a Viofo A119v3 with the HK3-3 wire kit.

The instructions for the HK3-3 hardwire kit shows a 2a fuse.

I'm running a Viofo A119S.  Just looked - an orange fuse i.e. 5amp.

(No, I'm not going to extract it to read the rating on the other side.  That's where traditionally I make another job for myself!  😬)

Ahh ok as reference I found the manual that you're referring to on their website - Link

Smallest I can find that is easily accessible to buy is 3A, so gonna go with that for this job.

Thanks :)

Ended up taping into the rear wiper and the interior light since our dashcam also requires power for its parking-mode.

All in all the installation was fairly straight forward, took about 30min.
