Guide : How to fit Leon front splitter

Featured Replies

Silver this sunday hopefully (if the weather holds up as I dont have a garage at home). If not it'll be the following weekend and so on...until the weather is good enough that I can fit it.

I think pic2 looks ok tbh, no one will see it from that angle and it doesnt look that bad anyway IMO

Good luck with it - be careful if you've had it painted, mine bent quite a bit to fit smoothly, you might crack the paint (unless your having it painted afterwards obviously!)

Phill

Painting it afterwards mate. Want to see what it looks like 1st and if it needs doing at all!

Is there a part number? I just called the Seat Stealer in Croydon and they said they would have to get back to me, or are they just lazy:rofl:

Alex

P.s. Do you need to buy the self tapping screws seperately or do they come with it and will a stanley knife do for a cutting tool?:D

Well just fitted mine as well as the long awaited strut brace :)

Part number is Part number is 1ML 805 903 its just under £20

You'll need to buy the screws seperatly. You might get away with a stanley knife if its sharp enough but it'll be easier with a small saw as the plastic is a few mm thick in places.

Need pics on a silver car, I'm interested in doing this myself, even with it lowered the front end is too high IMO

Hop this link works - if not look in my gallery :)

Can we have a few more pics showing the whole car?

i only took them of the front, i'll get some more soon - looks almost standard as the black goes with the grille inserts ans number plate surround

Looking good - subtle but makes a difference. I don't think I'll colour code mine either - it's in too prone a location, and there's plenty of black plastic on mine - still have the black rubbing strips, plus front and rear mud guards. An extra bit of black plastic won't look out of place.

Eventually someone put it on a silver one!! Brilliant, Looks great, off to seat in the morning then..................... :)

I want to see a few more pics before I take the plunge (!) especially from the side.

Has everyone just followed the guide on here or done anything different?

Just a quick heads-up for someone who wants one of these splitters living in the Manchester area - there's one posted up in the for sale forum on SeatCupra.net for.....a tenner....!

Nowt to do with me - I just saw the 'advert'.

robby, might want to remove your numberplate from the above pics mate.

Big brother watches this site ;)

Cheers Hellfire, didn't think of that - don't know how to remove the 1 in the reply 1 though?

Cheers Phil, gonna call them this week, anyone know the diameter/length of the screws needed or is it easy just to look and go to homebase to get them?!

Cheers

Put the order in at my local SEAT garage, £16.66 plus VAT, will have it later this week... job for the weekend methinks! Re-supagarded the whole car last saturday (after having a couple of panels sprayed) so this will be the job for next weekend! :)

No probs - about 10mm long will be fine for the screws, wouldnt go much longer than that though

Spaz mode....

I never knew the part is from a Leon Cupra R and not an Ibiza Cupra.

Guess it doesn't matter...

I know, I thought it did, DOH!

Oh well, DEFINATELY fitting it this weekend now. Was raining in North Yorkshire where I lived on Sunday & I was hung over :)

Any chance of a few more pics on a silver one from different angles which show the whole car?

Didn't take any "whole car" pics - from the side, you probably wouldn't even make out the splitter in a photo - it's pretty subtle.
