PistonHeads review of new vRS

Featured Replies

To sum it up the Octavia VRS is a cracking car. Well two cars in fact. Your £17,500 is going to go a long way. Don’t be put of just because it wears a Skoda badge. Remember, it’s backed up with a three-year warranty, the servicing charges are extremely reasonable and your getting Audi build quality at half the cost of the Four Rings. It will without doubt fulfil the most extreme petrol head. Oh, and did I mention that it reminds me of a Porsche 996..?

I think he liked it

i love the comments in the discussion thread on there...

someone is complaining that its only a 16v not a 20v...

Few mistakes in the write up,but good one.

Didn't know rear electric windows were an extra on an Audi RS4?! Everyone stop moaning now

don't get them on the rears, pointless having them in the back anyway - don't think mine have ever been used....

Why do people keep saying £17.5k is expensive and compare to the old models price of £14.5k? Wasn't the old Model £15.1k when it first came out and wasn't that quite a few years ago? I think the price still compares very well to it's competitors.

Review now added to our Links section. :)

Useful if you have kids who like to fiddle with things though!

I use them regularly - admittedly only to clear condensation etc from them in the mornings but I would find it a pain to have to clear them manually before reversing :) (sorry, but im very lazy :D )

Well, as someone who is p/x-ing his R32 and getting a Fabia vRS in the interim, and who has been a long time Audi fan (had quite a few) I was considering a new A4 later on in the year but now I've seen the Octy vRS and the Estate version, which I need, I can seriously say that I'll be checking it out prior to running off blindly to my local Audi dealer!

The more subtle looks and high end build quality (VW build quality has gone way down in my estimation :( ) make it a real proposition for me...... plus the 2nd closest car dealer to me is Skoda, 2 miles, (have to travel 30 miles to Audi), the 1st is Ford !!

:)

The point I find most intereting about the new vRS , and most reviewers seem to agree, is that the handling seems much better than the old vRS. Nice to see a review which doen't compare it to the bloody Focus ! (totally different market IMO)
