Little car icon on MIB screen

Featured Replies

I'm just curious... the little car which drives across my MIB screen towards the fuel pump under the car setting is almost perfectly representative of my actual car - its a silver or business grey hatch with Phoenix wheels which is just like my real car - just missing the sunroof.  Is this (as i suspect) a coincidence?  Or is the car on the screen actually matched to the real life car?  Is it matched on your screen to your model?

Aha.  Well a lesson learnt for everyone then.... you should all order silver hatchbacks with Phoenix wheels so the inside can match the outside ;-)

Ha Ha, same with my wife's Polo, silver and 5 door and 5 spoke alloys, perfect match with the car icon in her car!

I have the Combi, and yes, the car displayed on screen is a combi.

I have an combi, the car on all the graphics on the infotainment is a combi car,.

If you have a combi and it shows an estate, you have the wrong firmware installed or maybe this is a MY17 car thing ?

loads of examples on this thread.

Perhaps this can be coded and changed to suit your car with vcds?

it should be set correctly by default, i would suggest just taking it to the dealer...

True. Out of curiosity, is everyone's car colour on the system silver?

Mine shows a silver estate in my race blue estate...one very small thing I wish they had matched up!

I have a hatchback (is that the right term for these things?) and it shows a hatchback. However I have Zeus wheels and moon white. The infotainment shows multi spoke wheels and silver car.

Does it matter?

Looks like there are only 2 settings. Hatchback or Combi. Would have been a cool addition if it automatically picked your configuration though (which would mean it needs internet connection btw).

I'd like the image of a 'Sad Faced Driver' displayed on the MIB when the vehicle runs out of fuel because the owner spent so much of their time staring at the image to see how much it resembled their actual vehicle, they forgot to fill up.

Now, that would be 'Simply Clever'.

My car is a Black Magic hatchback. Unfortunately so is the the little car icon  - so I can see sod all.

Just kidding - it's Quartz Grey, also with a little silver car icon

I have the moon White hatch and it shows as a white hatch on the columbus and on the colour maxi dot. Must be a coding thing.

The car in your MaxiDot is a white Octavia...
