Octavia III Facelift

In my country to be legal you also need headlamp washers, that means new bumper with washers, yes led's are way beyond any halogen but to install this aftermarket i guess it will be more money then initial package.

I haven't read this thread in a while, so sorry if I'm repeating something, but I just noticed that the chinese Octavia FL got new rear lights:

Thought it was a Superb until I read your text. Prefer my smoked FL 2017 rear lights though.

I also don't like fake exhaust, it really looks chinese.

The whole planet is going down the fake exhaust route unless you drive a performance car which tend to have the REAL THING (Coke is better than Pepsi).

On superskoda there are fake exhausts like these and in real life from distance looks ok but in close, looks lame because smoke comes out under bumper and it just looks cheap. I hate fake exhaust and skoda is mounting them more and more.I'm happy that mine doesn't have any fakes, like this it is like wolf in sheeps clothing. :D

Stickers on the front assist radar...is that really a good idea?

(Are stickers a good idea at all? :whew: )

No radar there on my 245 then again you wouldn't know that not owning one. All sensors are below the interior forward mirror for the Lane Assist but never use that anyway because it throws a strop when you take your hands of the wheel. No adaptive cruise control either which annoyed the hell out of me on my 2016 Superb and our second car the hyper sensitive collision warning radar on the Kangoroq.:oMY car my choice on the stickers have I ever criticised anyone's car on here? No because I am not a child. Have a nice day.:inlove:

Your car, your stickers, you knock yourself out over them but no, not my cup of tea.

I take it you haven't seen Gemma Summer's race blue Mk3 with the flouresent pink decals, her car, her stickers, her choice.

Nuff said ?

I had an AmD sticker on the back of my Superb, but not for long, it wasn't "right " on the Silver barge.......

Still got the April 2013 AmD remap though, 'cos it really works for me. 249 bhp &  35+ MPG from a comfy but nippy barge floats my boat!

We own a pair of Golfs with adaptive cruise, not used very often, mostly in speed controlled roadworks.

What's your take on AmD's offerings, I've only had cars mapped there (5 so far....) but I can't fault them at all?

Yeah not cheap but the work is second to none and considering the 336bhp and 517NM my Octavia pushes out can't complain about the 39.4mpg winter/stage 2 tuned average and the 40.8mpg since new. The exhaust, intercooler, induction kit and uprated brakelines/fluid all well integrated and only enhance the driving experience plus the standard suspension gives me the comfort I like on the motorway section of my commute.

Do AmD still have a place out near Reading? Once upon a time (Going back 15 years) I did some advertising work for them and was promised a remap if i ever had a relevant car!

Don't think so they are based in Grays, Essex near Ikea if you know the area not far from Lakeside Shopping Centre, plenty to do while you wait.

the review is well timed, seeing as you can only by them from stock now :dull:

The last hurrah for the Mk3 Octy. Like the VW Golf 7.5 Gti TCR but cheaper and less power as usual.

Auto Express (thrashed) road tested that exact same car KY19 VRC so expect to see it pop up at a dealer near you with very worn front tyres oh and worn brake pads and possibly warped discs.

Collected this little beauty today and got a very nice surprise because the salesperson didn't realise it came with the following options. In addition to what he could see such as the 19" Extremes, the Black Pack, DSG 7speed box and spare wheel it has electric folding mirrors, heated front seats, heated windscreen and washer nozzles, Lane Assist and Blind Spot Monitoring (over £3,200 of options) and I only paid £27,100 including the first 2 services, 12 months Body repair and alloy wheel insurance. Corrida Red hatch 245 petrol. Drives magnificently and has converted me to DSG ownership with 50mpg on the first drive.
