Winter spares - bulbs

Featured Replies

I'm always shocked at the number of cars I see on the road with faulty headlights (overtook one the other day who only had sidelights and 1 (NS) fog working - explains why he was driving along at 35 in a 60).

Anyway, back to the topic on hand, I wondered if I should prepare my stores cupboard.  I have a 3hr commute (there and back) for work over the winter, and this it is all done in the done dark now.

Where is a good place to get replacement Xenon bulbs (or will I be shocked at the price?) for a 2014 vrs.

Also can anyone recommend a good supplier or floor mats, my drivers side one had a hole in it - ideally black with red stitching to match the rest of the car (not fussed about having the vrs logo on it).

Thanks :-)

I wouldn't bother carrying a spare xenon.

They should last for years of normal use and generally will colour shift before failure. They are also quite expensive and due to the voltages involved care should be taken when replacing them.

And you must never touch the "glass" envelope with your fingers as human finger grease creates a cold spot which leads to premature failure.
