Didn't know the new Octy vRS was out yet?

Featured Replies

Was Skoda-taken by a black Octy2 vRS this morning whilst coming down to a 2 into 1 section of the A380. I got a good look at it as we both slowed down to snails pace. Looks VERY nice! He pulled in about three cars ahead of me, and once out on the M5 I flew past in the outside lane, to try and get him to see the sticker on the rear screen.

Therefore, perhaps this should be in "was it you" - but I'm more flummoxed that a new Octy 2 vRS was on the road at all. On a 55 plate of course.

Seen a couple of older octy vRS too today - common as muck! :P ;)

press/demo car probably.

Probably. He headed off in the general direction of the Skoda dealer in Exeter. Might have to drop by there at the weekend. ;)

There are people on this site who are driving new ones

The Colchester dealer has had one for nearly 2 weeks now.

when is this car released??? just interested as would this reduce the cost of the mk1 vRS even further when people are trading the old for the new???

ps andy ccr, got any pics of yours, would love to see it??

I dont think it will reduce the value of the mk 1's . Bear in mind that Mk1's are available for 13k new, once they are gone (and it wont be long), and a Mk2 cost 17k I foresee the value of Mk 1's increasing.

My local dealer (Loders in Yeovil) is running two demonstrators at the moment. I'm hoping to pop down for a test drive in the next day or two.

Apparently, the official launch is on the 23rd, which I guess means tomorrow.

Bagpuss.

We have had ours for a few weeks now, there was a post up at the time with pics and review etc.

Do keep up Jason.

Is anyone selling them to the public now though? This was one bloke on his own in the car, out of business hours. Was not being demo'd from what I could see.

How would you know if it wasnt a salesman on his weekend break.

Aha. Well if the salesmen drive them to and from work, then that explains it (He turned off the motorway toward the general part of Exeter where the Skoda dealer is) I look forward to seeing some more out and about then.

Test drove one yesterday - black with 18" alloys. I liked it - a lot :) Not as fast as mine, but not a lot slower, with a nice crisp engine note. Bags of torque - just like the 1.8T. Good gearbox, but I found the gate a bit narrow - first time I've used a 6-speeder. A lot more legroom in the back for my 5'9" 14-year old son

Well screwed together but one problem  Far too much wind noise from the windscreen pillars. Much more than in my Mk 1. Maybe a fault on the car I drove. I mentioned it to the saleman and they're going to check it our.

Will I buy one? Probably, but not for a year or two. Darth is coming together nicely at the moment, with another trip to Star Performance on Saturday coming :D :D 16000 miles on the clock and going like a rocket  After Saturday with a Milltek cat, Supersprint exhaust and a tweak to the remap, even faster :D :D
