You can buy the lead from either Ross Tech (and suffer import charges etc.) or you can buy from any of their UK resellers.

Ok so i have the latest VCDS software download from Ross-Tech. Can someone tell me which cable I need for a 2015 MKIII Octavia VRS?

Any of:

- microCAN (only has CAN bus diagnostics so no use if you're going to use on older VAG vehicles e.g. for friends, colleagues, etc.)

- HEX-USB+CAN (CAN + dual K-line diagnostics but may not be updatable for all controllers on future MQB2 cars)

- HEX-NET (usable via USB or WiFi)

Those aren't genuine, they won't get any software updates and can cause issues on newer cars.

Get what you're saying and you get what you pay for. Not sure I can justify the price tag to make a couple of tweaks :(

It's more the risk to your car than anything else.

 

If it's just a couple of tweaks, I'd try and find a member who is local to you with genuine VCDS, most are happy with a few beer tokens. Even more so if you're able to provide a guide to anything you want doing.

Get OBDEleven then - much cheaper and will do all the tweaks you need.
