Extended Warranty on used Skoda?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Looking at replacing my Citigo with an Octavia very soon. Have seen a number of used 2013-2014 ones i like but 12 months warranty just isn't enough for me, my luck over the years has been awful!

Does anyone know if you can extend the warranty to 3 years on a used vehicle and how much it costs?

Thank you

Not for me it's not... unless the non VRS models are cheaper?

Just quoted my 17,000 mile Octavia. Cheapest cover (named component, less than 10k annual mileage and £250 excess) comes out at £477 for a year.

Possibly somewhere like warranty-direct or the AA might work out to be a cheaper option, I had the AA for my corsa a few years back.

With the Skoda Used Car Warranty you do not want 'Named Component', You want 'Full English' Everything covered, (exclusions apply)

as it is you need to get the T&C's first and read the Exclusions,

Then as much as some of us had the Skoda Approved Warranty from Car Care ltd & then the Newer Version (VW Owned),

This can be rejected still as not being a failure. High Oil usage, DSG Mechatronic Control Unit / Clutch Packs having brain farts.

When I tried at 09:58 it didn't work but I've just tried again at 10:19, and it looks like they've fixed it.

Agreed, the cost wasn't much more for full cover so if you're going to pay it you might as well go all in. If I remember rightly the maximum claim limit for the higher cover is the value of the car, whereas for named component it's about 1k or 2k at the most.

Has anyone actually taken this extended warranty via Skoda after their manufacturer warranty has ended? I'm curious to know if it expires if you take it monthly, rather than annually? I've had a similar policy with BMW (underwritten by Mondial) and if you took the monthly option, it effectively just carried on at the same amount for as long as you kept paying it, even when you went above the mileage threshold for higher warranty costs.
