Aircon, heater high pitched noise

Featured Replies

Hi all, I have a noise issue ...my heater works fine (elegance dual zone climate) but after a while there a high pitched almost whistle from above the radio area , switch climate off and it's gone, back on and it's gone.... for a little while .... then comes back ..... fan high or low makes no difference .... I usually have settings for screen and feet buttons pressed.... going to try the car on auto in future .....I've only had the car a few weeks but there are receipts for major aircon servicing

Sounds like a gas leak or system is running on reduced gas.

System was re gased under a year ago ....how do I know or where do I look to see if it is leaking ..... heating all works as it should..... except for the noise

If ambient temperature is above 6°C you should be able to turn A/C full on and it should be icy cold.

If not and you are hearing strange noises then there's a lack of gas/oil in the system... AFAIK but wait for an A/C specialist to chime in.

Ok, 7degrees out, put on low and re cycle air so as not to draw in cold air from outside .... in 500 yds it was def colder in the car than out and blowing full blast so I don't know .... I'm guessing there are different fan wheels in the back somewhere to create air at different vents and you can hear one whizzing round for a few seconds after the car has stopped so maybe it's something like that not running 100% smooth
