Hello from Bristol (cursed but loved Superb)

Featured Replies

Hello,

New joiner from the Bristol area (not a lot of Skoda garages round here).

I've searched the forum in the past (via google) and found it very useful to calm my worries about what's wrong with my Superb.

I own a '10 plate Superb Elegance which I've adored since I got it 2 years ago (mainly due to the leg-room, being over 6 foot myself).

I've had a mixed history in those two years:

1) Drivers heated seat repaired within 2 months under warranty by local Skoda garage, they replaced the bum heater but not the lower back (and it wasn't until I sat in the passenger seat I realised it was supposed to have one, then sadly out of warranty!).

2) Then they found the driver's side boot light wasn't working, replaced the bulb but still not working (haven't had this one fixed to this date).

3) The dreaded twindoor wire-loom fraying! Replaced wiring loom and now all fine.

4) November 2016 rear-ended by someone following too close on icy roads. Bumper and plate replaced along with two child-seats (more expensive than the bumper!)

5) December 2016 t-boned (at low speed) by a road-rager who didn't want me to leave without him threatening me!

6) December 2016, my wife hit a badger at 70mph, still waiting bumper, grill, foglight and washer tank repalcement!

Through all that I still love it, hence me joining to learn all I can and hopefully help others in the process.

Cheers

Blimey, not had the best of luck with it so far! They are lovely cars though and there is quite a few members down in the south west

Yeah the last month has been a tough one, thankfully the other person's insurance covered the rear-end and the road rager did more damage to his own car than mine!

Welcome along.  You've certainly had a rough time lately, hope 2017 is a better year for you.
