2011 Vrs Bluetooth streaming.

Featured Replies

Good evening all,

I've got a 2011 vrs fitted with bolero & no Bluetooth.

Can I retrofit Bluetooth that allows me to stream music from my phone using Vag parts?

Thanks all.

Yes

The part I used is 3C8 035 730 E in my 2012 FL vrs.

There's info in my project thread as to what it does

Thanks mate have you got a link to your build?

Dubbsley, before you buy a 3C8 035 730 E, make sure you have a maxidot dash cluster too.

If you don't have maxidot, you won't be able to pair your phone :)

Ive not got maxidot, have you any ideas what I would need?

I thought all FL vRS's had maxidot?

If not, there may be a fiscon module that will allow bluetooth without maxidot. Fiscon low might do it?

Edit: but agreed getting maxidot will be a more complete solution with other functionality and benefits as well.

Without maxidot the easiest oem solution is to get a 7p6 035 730 j or above module. That can be paired from the phone end and the Bolero can manage the contacts. You won't get the premium features the 3C8 module offers but it will work for calls and music streaming.

I think 7P6 035 730 J or newer is suggested for the non-maxidot case.

Just one thing to be aware of, looking at an autoscan for your car (VIN ending in 225), you have a 1Z0 035 156 F Bolero which is made by Blaupunkt. There have been numerous reports of these showing corrupt phonebooks with newer BT modules including the 7L6 J.

I'll see what I can find out when I have time.

Thanks for assistance guys, with little knowledge this area seems a mine field, it would appear the kit I have found matches up with the module u advise me on. In no massive rush, so thank again for all the advice :-)

Do you know if this module would still work with a amusden+ head unit?

I have a FL with a Columbus unit, what would best module be for that? I don't have maxi dot
