Yeti L&K no longer available to order

Featured Replies

Been told by me dealer that the L&K is no longer available to configure and order. Only ones currently scheduled to be built will be completed and that is about 18 for the UK.

Choice of models is getting less and less.

That might go some way to explaining why L&K's have been going so cheap on lease deals. Mines costing £121 a month which is barmy.

Glad I got my order placed in November! Yes it seems they're potentially getting ready for the new Yeti to emerge, although I thought that wasn't due for a while yet.

Simpsons are still adverting them and taking orders until end of Jan

Was told that a special end of model edition will be launching soon with all the goodies that are no longer available such as coloured roof, I guess this with different engines and maybe a cheaper entry model will see the model through until new model launch early 2018

New model closer and closer it seems to me.

Just checked configurator on Skoda UK website and still there.

It's also still in the brochure that's downloadable on Skoda UK website (but that has a Nov 2016 date, just after indoor versions went), and doesn't include the Drive versions. I suspect a new brochure is close.

When I ordered by Yeti in June 2016 the brochure had: 3 S, 3 outdoor S, 3 SE, 3 outdoor SE, 3 Monte Carlo, 3 SE L, 3 outdoor SE L, 1 S 4x4, 3 SE 4x4, 2 Monte Carlo 4x4, 2 SE L 4x4, 3 L&K. A total of 31 variants.

There are no longer 31 variants, so this axing of many versions in just 7 months suggests new model must be getting close.

No more brown seats.

No loss.

Unless severe application of brakes required.

Shame.  Very useful for those 'dashcam moments'.

Isn't this usual towards the end of a vehicles lifespan? Skoda need to keep sales up until they launch the Yeti Mk2 in 2018 so are offering sweeteners to attract buyers with extra items at attractive prices. Hence the Drive models and I guess there will be other 'specials' during 2017 offering value for money extras.

These deals are particularly good value if you are not too concerned about having the latest thing, all the goodies on a well proven vehicle for less money.

Personally I wouldn't buy a new car in it's first 18 months of life, wait till the inevitable bugs have been eliminated by early adopters and the manufacturing process has been debugged and settled in. I was in manufacturing for most of my working life and almost without exception the later products off a manufacturing line were better than the early products.

Isn it referred to as the 2018 model?.

That might actually mean mid 2017 release perhaps.

MYs always seem to be way ahead of release date these days

I agree that the release may be at the end of this year for production deliveries early in 2018 with maybe a batch of 'First Edition' cars being made for release at the end of the year.  BUT, with so much going on they may decide to leave it till mid 2018. I'm at the dealers Thursday I'll try to ask the question and see if I get any feedback?

If they even acknowledge a new one is coming soon I'd be amazed.

Standard response seems to be "we haven't been told anything " and I think the stock manager wants it to remain that way in order to be rid of the old ones for a reasonable price.

Hmm... currently waiting for my build week from Simpsons for my L&K that I ordered in December...

The dealer I've got does know there is a new Yeti and has indicated that it's 2018 he even indicated that there would be a 'run out' spec'd version early this year so that's pretty accurate.

I guess he's no worried about a lack of demand and an oversupply.

We,have so much brand and price competition the dealers are just desperate for a sale TODAY

I'd think that with a current design being loaded with a few extra goodies they will still sell well. Having taken delivery of my current Yeti only last September I'm happy to see what happens over the next year or so. I'd be very interested in a Yeti ll and would be in a position to wait for the early adopters to debug the car before taking the plunge. That assumes it comes to market early in 2018.

I spoke to my dealer this morning and his guess is that the Yeti ll will be towards the end of 2018 and be based very much on the Kodiaq design. So to me, if this is true, the car would be available in serial production early in 2019.

I was told they have released the Kodiaq this year with many not receiving their vehicles until at least May, so next year they will launch another new vehicle, the Yeti 2. But he seemed to be pointing out that similar to the Kodiaq an order book will open possibly at the end of this year, early next year with deliveries mid 2018, could see it launched at one of the motorshows sometime this year I guess.

Maybe Geneva in March or more likely UK in April .... but I would guess way before Paris in October ... so surprised nothing has leaked on the auto-comics yet .... so who knows.

However I doubt it will be that similar to the Kodiaq .... aimed at a fairly different market ... plus I'm not really a fan of the shrunken "cheaper" models .... i.e. XC90-XC60 or the RR-RRsport etc.

I suspect it will look rather like the SEAT Ateca.

With more than a hint of Kodiak. Increase in size from current Yeti to more Quashquai size because that is the plum to pluck and where VAG see maximum sales potential.

If the Yeti replacement is being built by Skoda in the Skoda plant where Skoda are building the Ateca is it not a very good bet that the platform / wheelbase and exterior dimensions will be pretty much identical?

The Superb is built on the same line as the Yeti is now. They are pretty different sizes.

VAG said there would be more platform sharing

Audi Q3 - Golf/Yeti platform

Audi Q5 - Ateca/Kodiaq platform

Would be a rational guess?

An Ateca is 5 1/2" longer than a Yeti & a Kodiaq is 14" longer than a Ateca.

A Superb is longer even than a Kodiaq.

Built in same Factories is a bit different from being built on the same line, or built on the same platform.

But from the picture i see a Superb & Yeti going up the same line so every day is a school day.
