I have a Skoda one with the sensor that is plug and play if you're interested.

I didn't have the OEM sensor in my car but I do now the windscreen has been replaced so I removed the other one.

It's this one

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/282011483673.

Lights up green as it should

Hi, Did I misunderstand this... Does this have plug/play auto function in green? Thanks.

No you need a mk1 yeti switch for that.

Under the write-up of this, it says the sensitivity is adjustable, has anyone manage to change the sensitivity? I'd just like it to come on a little earlier than it is and I've already set the sensor low in the windscreen.

I have seen a thread where they say the illumination can be set for a second rather then more then that, when travelling in a tunnel. I understand that this is actually the real reason for auto headlights, rather then being "Lazy" about turning them on at night. I have actually seen some non UK variant switches that actually have a tunnel symbol, rather then saying "Auto"  Which looks kinda cool.

Got my switch, fitted up and WOW, Nice! It comes on quickly in tunnels etc. They also go back off again when back in the light. I also set the lights to come on when I unlock the car remotely so you can see the car in a dark place. Also set to light up for around a minute after locking up at night. This is adjustable from a few sec's to the full min.

I have a Yeti switch, in green, however, originally, I had the incorrect module as the Yeti has a small plug and the Fabia a large, longer one so I needed a different module. This has the standard plug, with a cable which has the smaller plug on the other end, to utilise the new switch. I now plan to sell the other module, possibly getting a switch first, to make a complete unit. It will then be small connector, to small connector, for many models but not the Fabia. (Most likely a VW, perhaps another Skoda with small connector).

Oh, I have yet to mount the sensor as its just on the dash at the moment. Wanted to ask others where they placed it for best efficiency with least visibility and likelihood of damaging?

Thanks.

Without rechecking all functions etc, I have noticed now though, that when you put the turn signal on and remove the key, the car used to display just one parking/sidelight, dependent on which signal was used, whether left or right. Now, with this new switch, it displays both as would the "Normal" parking/sidelight light function. So it seems I can't just display one side only, cutting down on power drain!

Not the end of the world and it might be just a setting but hey, it was a nice feature!

Fitted this to my 2011 vrs had no dash lights so changed back to the original switch and now have no lights at all checked all the fuses but still no joy any ideas

It's blew a fuse, check them again :)

If I put the auto lights back on it all works no dash lights unles lock then unlock doors

Yeah all the dash lights stop working..... which is fun when driving at night when it happens.....

I had the same thing, its the 5A fuse.

I still can't get the home lights to program at all, I get no beeps what so ever.

I’ve done this to about 3 cars now. I don’t remember ever hearing a beep but they always work once it’s dark, unlock the car and they work!

Ok thanks Hutch, do you remember what the sequence was that you did for it?

No chance :D

left, right, up down, L1, L2, A, B

Couldn’t follow your video AMD.

i gave up and sent the unit back, they tried it on their T5 camper and it worked perfectly.

Must be something with the wiring on my car, I upped both the headlamps and the 5A fuse as I have HIDs and the homecoming lights never worked, just blew the dashlights fuse.

Mine still don’t work have to unlock lock doors for dash lights put old switch in have no lights at all checked fuses seem ok which fuse dash lights

Check your fuse layout. If you have a late FL (with latest style steering wheel and new badges) it's likely blown the Light Switch fuse, can't remember the fuse number.

It’s the only 5amp fuse in the box (if it’s still 5amp) so look for the odd orange fuse, near the top left of the fuse box

edit.  It says something like steering lock,I think it’s number 35 which is bottom row 7 from the left.

Ive sent mine back now, but i couldn’t get it to do any of what your video showed.  I tried it during day and night.  A real shame as it was the Homelights I wanted on it.  The auto lights worked, but they had a habit of blowing the fuse if they turned on before the engine started.

oddly when I sent it back to the retailer it all worked fine on their T5, straight away without messing with it.

I will look tomorrow at work at moment so look when get up

Just looking at @JGrindels instruction link and reading it again (amongst other instructions in various levels of translation) I wonder if I had to change fuse 23 to a 20-25A one?  I changed the large fuses for headlights (57 & 58)  and and the main beam (36), but it seems to suggest that the side lights fuse needs to be increased to 20A, which is one of the small fuses running at 15A.

it might also explain why @AMD87 managed to get his working, because he has LED headlights and not HID...

hmm, do I give it another whirl and buy another kit...  or do I just try and nip down the road to see @JGrindel and look at his fuse Box as I think he has HID.

I don’t have HID installed but I do recall a fuse needs to be upgraded if you have HID’s.

What happened to your old kit?

Im going to be ordering another kit to retrofit into my cupra r!

Oh you’ve sold the skoda?

I sent it it back to the Vw transporter shop as I couldn’t stop it blowing fuses, I explained the problem and they kindly took it back in, although it worked fine on their demo car obviously!!  Now I’m wondering if I didn’t increase the ampage of enough fuses (or rather, I increased the ampage of the wrong fuses).

i also wonder if it would fail an mot as it doesn’t dim the DRLs when the sidelights come on automatically.

Did their demo car have hids?
