No I don’t think it did, but they sell HID headlamp retrofit kits.

I have now slipped LED bulbs up front and the switch is still working great. Just bad luck, I guess? I have a proper Skoda green switch but the auto light was a Chinese one. I have started to trust modern Chinese stuff, to some degree.

Changed fuse dash lights work and coming home and leaving home lights work too well pleased now thanks for the help

Glad it worked!!  It is an odd fuse to blow, the only way I knew it was the steering lock one was to remove and replace every fuse to check if it had blown!

I just checked the ones with light symbols should of gone through them all

Perhaps I was lucky or perhaps my switch was a better quality one but I had no fuse issues. Not sure if it related to the actual auto lead bit or the actual dash switch.

Oh you’ve sold the skoda?

I sent it it back to the Vw transporter shop as I couldn’t stop it blowing fuses, I explained the problem and they kindly took it back in, although it worked fine on their demo car obviously!!  Now I’m wondering if I didn’t increase the ampage of enough fuses (or rather, I increased the ampage of the wrong fuses).

i also wonder if it would fail an mot as it doesn’t dim the DRLs when the sidelights come on automatically.

MOT fine, mine passed without issues! Apart from an advisory for metal plates... yawn!

The MOT requirement is for the DRL's to dim or go out when the headlights are switched on, being active with the side lights is fine. As above, my wife's passed her MOT fine last year with the kit installed.

HI

I've fitted similar kit to my 12plate octavia.

Works fine apart from the front side lights don't work any more.

DLR lights dim when lights come on but it does set off the bulb out light on the dash! I've heard you can get a extra trigger wire to stop this!

Has anyone else come across this problem?

Ive programmed manual coming home lights on my Caddy.

Not as good obviously, but problem free and solves the problem of seeing on dark customers driveways

was that an after market kit & did you have any error lights?

No none. Nothin aftermarket. Just told it id got coming home lights.

As i havent got auto headlights, they work in manual mode.

So if i quickly pull the left stalk back (flash the headlights) after turning the ignition off but before opening the drivers door, when i do open the drivers door the headlights come on for a set period (ive got it set to 30 seconds)

its obv not as good as auto ones but its good enough for me. Mainly on dark customers driveways

Out of curiosity, is this a general VAG thing or  just a Caddy thing?

Yeh I tried to code mine with the flash of the headlights but it didn’t work out.

i think there are different Canbus on different years and some like mods, some don’t.  I know people who have bought the exact same LED bulbs for their number plates and theirs work fine but mine give a CANBUS bulb out error.  HIDs and late model Fabias (2013+) definitely seem to get upset with auto light retrofits!

Mine is (09) Greenline. Changed interior, glovebox, boot, numberplate, front sidelights and both pairs (4) Of tail lights front headlights, with LED bulbs, no errors to date!

I might try it again and see if it codes for the flasher.

Im fairly certain your model does not have the same canbus that gives bulb errors, I think it’s 2012 onwards and then they changed it again in 2014.

im thinking about getting this for my 1.9 sport...

can someone link me to the cheapest option?

Mines a 2011 FL and canbus warning on headlights (projector+Main), Indicators front/rear, brake lights, rear fog and rear tail lights. Not on front side lights (led), front fog (led), drl (led), reverse (led), number plate (led) and  internal lights(led) Not sure of side repeaters.

Mines a 2013. Only time ive had a light out warning is when an indicator bulb went.

Ive got HID’s, led numberplate, led side, led interior and boot. Not touches the tail lights though.

I think the warning comes on if the brake lights fail. I had a bulb AND the brake light switch fail and had one of the dash lights come up but forget which one it was. I remember it cost me about £120 to fix a £20 fault, due to diagnostics and replacement of quite cheap part. The dealer then said "Its a typical error warning'! Why they could not tell me that so I could investigate is beyond me. (Might be chasing the bucks though)!

EPC i think is the code for a failed brake light switch.

I had it on a Polo. VW wanted £70 just to disgnose even though its a common problem. So i took a punt on a £15 switch and won.

I’ve got a 2014 Combi.  I get errors from:

canbus numberplate LEDs (intermittent ones, now attached 5w resistors!)

Autobeam canbus 581 indicators (these are supposed to be error free, but I get hard errors that won’t reset by switching off the engine and restarting, bumps seem to cause the !)

i dont get errors from:

hids4u 55w hid kit

Twenty20 front sidelight LED

twenty20 Cree DRL LED

twenty20 Cree reverse LED

ive got some autobeam tail lights but I don’t hold out much hope for those considering the indicators didn’t work!  I was really disappointed with the indicators, they were quite expensive.  May return them as I don’t want to be fitting 4sets of resistors to really expensive LEDs.

im considering replacing the HIDs with the new Philips or Twenty20 H7 LED.  Autobeam also have some 7000lm ones that are cheaper, however I’ve not had great success with them so far (incorrect orders, delayed orders, 501 interior bulbs too long and won’t fit)

Ive ordered some H7 Autobeam LED’s and they didnt fit. Could get the metal clip around them.

Returned them and had to hassle them for about 2 weeks for a refund which i got slowly in bits and bobs. Had to keep doing the maths for them until i got the full amount.

They didnt want to refund me postage or return postage even though it says on their site that they should fit my car. Got there in the end...
