What is involved in removing the rear bumper of a Skoda Rapid Sport (not the Spaceback)?  I've searched for a diagram of the bolt locations etc but failed miserably.

 

I have a friend who's car has a dent in the nearside corner and it looks like it would easily push/pop out with a hefty weight on it whilst resting on a sleeping bag or a thick carpet.

 

The idea might be to pour boiling water on the bumper's inside to help ease the situation but perhaps this might be a complete no-no?

 

Any ideas gratefully received.

Here is the removal procedure for the Notchback however:

 

Remove tail lights
– Remove the screws in the area of the left and right wheelhouse (2+2).
– Remove the screws from below (6).
– Unclip the bumper out of the catches of the lateral guides by pulling from the wheelhouses outwards.

Carry out further installation only with the assistance of a second mechanic.
– Slacken the catches at the top guides under the tail lights.
– Detach the rear bumper by pulling parallel to the vehicle's long axis.
– Disconnect the plug connections of the existing electrical components.

I'm follicly challenged so don't possess a hair dryer but I daresay I could borrow one of those electric paint strippers, being careful not to hold it too near. :sweat:

Well it worked for me on my unpainted Yeti bumper when a concrete bollard leapt from nowhere and then told me to ignore my reversing sensors that were bleeping.

Still got some hair but I kept my wife's hairdryer when she 'upgraded'. Very useful for heating pieces up before painting and also final drying off.
