Looking to order - Wireless charging?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Long time browser; first post.

Been looking at a Superb for a long time; finally in a situation to afford one and justify the expense. Current ride is a 1997 Peugeot 406 basic model, so anything would be an upgrade. Car runs great though.

Looking at a Superb L&K with all the trimmings…nearly. Don't drive much but when the family does it's long trips, about 4-5 hours, with lots of stuff. So, mainly in it for the room the Superb offers.

Question about the wireless charging. I am a gadget freak (8 out of 10) and interested in this option; is it worth it? Seems like a useful item, but does it work?

Living in Estonia currently and noticed that there is no longer a sunroof option. This is too bad since that's a great feature. Odd that they don't offer all features in all markets. In Denmark, where I just came from, you can't even see an L&K since the market can't afford it. Dealer said you can't even order it though, and that the sunroof is on backorder so they removed it from the options list.

Tere! :)

if you are gadget man then you know none of built in navigation system can be compared to online systems as Waze or Google map

and best place for navigator is on the dashboard not under it - Phonebox and Wireless Charge aren't needed

p.s.

in Latvia currently Audi A6 offered by exact price as Superb, print out latvian pdf and visit estonian dealer :)

And why did you buy the Superb over the A6 ?

How is this even possible? o.0
Couldn't believe that until I opened Latvian Audi and Skoda websites.

The prices are not exactly the same, but I've never seen Skoda and Audi prices being so close to each other.

Don't know Latvian, but maybe adding a few extras to Audi A6 (to have half of Superb's L&K equipment) would get the price way higher.

It works but sometime your have to fiddle with the phone position. Note that you still need to connect the damn cable for Mirrorlink (androidauto/carplay) if you get that option.

Note that Skoda forces you to get the useless navigation if you want Mirrorlink. Dafuq.

Totally agree with this - had my car six weeks and love it, drives perfectly, no rattles etc. Had a few issues with missing/wrong equipment on car when delivered but dealer has been excellent at sorting this & paying compensation that I asked for. My car is currently in garage have very minor marks on front bumper sorted, dealer has given me a brand new 190 L & K as a courtesy car for 4 days. This also seems to be well built with no rattles etc.

If I were that disappointed with my car, I would not spend loads of time reading forums about it.

Bringing this back on topic and away from the weekly "all Superbs are terrible" rant...

I spec'ed the wireless charging to get the phonebox signal booster and feel it's worth it for the 1 or 2 bars of extra signal. I don't feel that the wireless charging on its own is that useful - most smartphones support Android Auto or CarPlay, both of which require you to plug in a USB cable...
