The Focus Given Some TLC

Featured Replies

Our trusty Focus CC has been under our ownership for 3 years now. So I felt I should give her a little TLC. So after a wash, and decon it was time to break out a few new products to me. Firstly Menzerna Power Protect Ultra that I got as a swapsie on here (thanks Lee). So out came the halogen to see what we were dealing with.

Not too bad to be honest, a few deeper swirls that I'm not too fussed about on a daily driver, just want to restore the gloss. After a quick pass with Menz PPU on a yellow 3M pad.

Here you can see that after the pad was primed, 3 smarty size blobs on the pad was enough to cover half of the bonnet. It spreads nicely, and leaves behind a lovely finish!

And buffed off.

Excellent product. I really like it. Worked it at 1500rpm on the rotary then dropped it to 1200 and slowed right down to jewel the paint. Lovely bubbly.

So on to my new sealant, Angelwax Ti-22. Now I used this last week on my mates X5, but I'm massively impressed with the finish this leaves. Not one for use on hot panels as it flashes really quickly and you need to flip the microfibre and buff otherwise it can streak. But when you get the back, it is fast to use and easy.

Here the car is coated, ready for waxing.

Thanks Chris.

Yep, a job for the next wash. I think if I'd  spent any more time on it the wife would have gone mental!

Looks really nice now

Nice work Neil - really great results on the areas you focused your efforts.
