Missed Assen, but Lowes bucked up a bit.

More important, we now have a 4 way title fight. Only 10 points cover Dovi from Mav, Vale and Marc.

Anyone else thinking "The Doctor is in"?

  • Author

It was an unusual result for 2017.  I do think Mav will keep it upright often enough to be the champ.  When they both finish I think he's beaten Vale every time this year.

The Doctor is definitely in.

Dovi didn't use it, but Lorenzo did.

He was 15th, and it looks hideous.  When the FIM banned winglets they obviously didn't rewrite the rules well enough.

The Yamahas were terrible too - Mav 11th Vale 14th.

Italian rider on Italian bike wins 2 GPs in a row again.

Now he leads the championship with the next round in... Italy :)

Forza Dovi once more

Shame for Marquez mind, all his good form lately undone by a Honda blow-up.

Rossi out for 5/6 weeks with MX tib-fib break!

Who gets his ride for couple of races?

Lowes after winning sukuza 8 hour?

Who is their test/reserve rider?

  • Author

Last year Alex Lowes subbed for Bradley, and managed a 13th place first time out.

Factory tester Katsuyuki Nagasuga also had a go at Motegi finishing 11th.

Lowes is currently shading team mate VaDerMark in the WSB standings.

I'd put Folger or Zarco on the works bike for Misano and Aragon and let Tech3 sort something else out for the spare black bike. Rossi might be just back for Motegi.

Edited by camelspyyder

@lol-lol - If it was me I'd try to borrow Zarco from Tech 3, and sweeten the deal by paying for their sub's ride.

Only one ride left next year, the second Avintia Ducati. Tito has signed for Avintia from MarcVDS.

MarcVDS are taking Morbidelli and Luhti (at last) from Moto2.

Sam Lowes gets Luhti's Interwetten Moto2 bike.

Surprisingly none of the satellite teams are changing bikes. Only 3 months ago Suzuki, Aprilia and KTM were all looking at having a second team.

2018 MotoGP line-up so far

Yamaha: Maverick Vinales, Valentino Rossi
Tech3 Yamaha: Johann Zarco, Jonas Folger
Honda: Marc Marquez, Dani Pedrosa
LCR Honda: Cal Crutchlow, Takaaki Nakagami
Marc VDS Honda: Franco Morbidelli, Tom Luthi
Ducati: Andrea Dovizioso, Jorge Lorenzo
Pramac Ducati: Danilo Petrucci, Jack Miller
Aspar Ducati: Alvaro Bautista, Karel Abraham
Avintia Ducati: Tito Rabat, tba
Aprilia: Aleix Espargaro, Scott Redding
Suzuki: Andrea Iannone, Alex Rins
KTM: Pol Espargaro, Bradley Smith

Mav. Dovi, Marq on front row.  Cal, Jorge, Zarco on 2.

Should be great.

VanDerMark gets Rossi's bike at Aragon.

They already gave Alex a few goes on the Tech3 last year.

...or maybe not.

Rossi rode the M1 yesterday, only 18 days after the double break of his leg.

The weather ruined the test but he expects to decide by Wednesday if he can ride Aragon or not.

These guys are hard; Didn't Lorenzo once break a collarbone in FP1/2 at Assen, fly to Barcelona for surgery, and still raced on the Sunday in Holland?

@camelspyyder @P6bJOHN - Even that's nothing on the "Old Days"; there are recorded instances of Tazio Nuvolari being plastered into a riding position so that he could run in GPs back in the 1930s.

After 20 laps on an R1, Vale has decided to try and race Aragon. MvdM will attend as sub.

  • Author

..and he sticks it on the FRONT ROW!

:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

                 all hail the GOAT!
