Featured Replies

Just found this on Youtube.... one of the more straight forward videos, doesn't look quite so daunting to change the cambelt and water pump now...

Just as well I have a garage with a pit for when it all goes tits up.....

Handy! Could do with the same

Lets put it this way it took me 11 hours on a borrowed ramp! Could do it in 6 now but what job, the engine mount is the main issue, theres just no space

Did it on the drive today - all good apart from getting soaked!

6 hrs and that included getting the engine mount out of the car - engine up, engine down, engine up a bit more, down a bit - you get the picture! the engine mount really is a nause but the rest I found quite nice to do.

Thanks Munster.  Mine is due in the next 6 months or so and was wondering whether to have a crack at it.  Whats the deal on the engine mount.  Is it just relocating it being a pain after lifting the engine?

It needs to move so you can get the belt on/off. The book says to remove it - others have just moved it out the way.

If you want to remove it I'd have a mate who can assist with lifting and lowering whilst you keep an eye on it. I did it by myself and had to move a bit then check whether it was far enough/too far etc.

Used the above video during it too by using catch video and downloading it to my tablet so I could refer to it whilst I was out by the car - all good!
