May be a very stupid question but during winter if it's very snowy can a DSG Octavia start off in 2nd gear ?

Can it be in manual mode and allow 2nd gear to be selected then move away ?

 

 

 

No,

and there is no need to, select 'D' or '1st' Manual or even 'S' and be easy on the throttle.

Put TC 'Traction Control' OFF if required. Owners manual explains, Getting unstuck, chains on etc.

Tyres that suit the conditions help obviously.

Thanks Awayoffski. That's what I thought but was looking for confirmation.

Mine usually starts in 2nd gear unless parked uphill.

 

But dont worry, dsg works just fine in the winter.
