Should I have a locking wheel nut?

Recommended Posts

I have a 14 plate octavia vrs tsi hatch and I couldn't seem to find a locking wheel nut before I took my car for an MOT. It passed the MOT fine, but wondered whether there even is one for these cars?

Thanks

Do you mean a locking wheel "nut" key? Take the covers of the bolt heads on one wheel and see if there is a locking one. If they are all standard hex heads no key required.

In the UK I'm pretty sure all cars should come with a locking Wheel nut on each Wheel.

Use the plastic tool from the boot to remove the plastic caps over the nuts & you should find one with a special star pattern inside the nut head.

In other countries its not always a standard option.

Here in Switzerland for example you have to pay extra to have them fitted by the garage (I didnt get them with my vRS).
