Hi there!

I'm Gaz, I'm a 62-year-old Scotsman living in Oldham. I'm about to take delivery of a new Octavia 1.4 TSi SE-L in Rio Red, courtesy of Motability and RRG Skoda Rochdale. The order was placed in late January, so I'm expecting delivery

mid-late April.

I'm really looking forward to the new car, I currently drive a FIAT 500L MPW 1.3TD and hope for better performance and comfort, and for economy not much worse than the 48mpg the FIAT has given over 41K miles.

I'm a father of 4, stepdad of 5, granddad of 11 and great-granddad of 1! I've been a petrolhead since before passing my driving test in 1972 and have driven everything from Audis and Austins to Volvos and VWs. I've been interested in Skoda

since the 1960s, I remember the '60s Octavia (just!), and of course the rear-engined range, although other brands held more appeal and I never actually owned a Skoda. Dad nearly bought a S110R once, but felt the price was too good to be true

and the car must be lacking in some way!

Away from cars, I play guitar, read SciFi, listen to Rock music, and do a bit of scale modelling (yes, I play with Airfix kits!). I also play retro video games (big Tomb Raider fan!) on PCs I build myself. After a long and varied work history,

I am currently cruising towards retirement as a Warehouse Operative, working for a major international sportswear/fashion chain.

Hello Gaz welcome to the forum WOW with that amount of children i didn't think you have time for hobbies .:)

Well, after 4 kids I thought I needed a new hobby!

All the kids & stepkids are grown-up; stepkids range from 44 to 33, my own kids from 29 to 23, grandkids 24 to 3, great-grandson is 2 months old!

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! I'll probably just lurk for a bit until the Octy arrives!
