Went to a cruise last night - in Rochdale as the title suggests.

Really enjoyed it too.

Life is too short to worry about tyres. The police were in know of the event and they do not have a problem as there is no trouble, a great atmosphere with people coming from all walks of life to enjoy a common interest. Yes cruises to have their fair share of *****. I certainly dont like ***** however at cruises they keep themselves to themselves.

I guess watching gardeners world isnt everyones cup of tea.

Mr Newell, I am of the opinion, that it's hard to form an opinion until you have experienced these type of things. I'm far from being a charv, but found the evening to be enjoyable, and entertaining.

I agree with your preconception of these things, and mine were the same as yours, but my eyes were opened in a pleasant way.

Yeah I heard quite a few people talking amongst themselves saying "check out that vrs".

When I used to take the vrs to cruises I always used to get good comments about it.

I agree that cruises are ok,yes there are bad elements there but most of them are genuine car enthusiasts and are there for a good time:thumbup:

Just been to a bit of a meet-up outside Exeter myself tonight. Similar stuff went on, although the type of machinary burning their tyres out didn't need 12 people to hang on to them to stop them simply driving away.

I was also rather anti-cruise as well, but having become a member of a local site down here, made loads of new friends who share a common interest in car modifying (properly ) - I consider it a new found social life. Every Wednesday I'm out now - and there's much more social stuff too - like shows and big meet-ups at weekends.

It needs someone to visit one of these meets and see if they're entertained or not by what goes on. For me, anyone destroying a car is a great spectator sport.
