Featured Replies

Hi

Just found an awesome thing on a spanish facebook page to change how the front lights behave in infontainment internal light dim.

Tried and tested on my14.

Tried copy but something went wrong, if someone are good on translation from spanish..

I'll post a video later how it works..

They also had a setting so the acceleration are linear instead of curved works good also! (its like a pedalbox but you dont need the box )

Looking forward to seeing the video.

Can you explain what the first adaption does, how does it change how the front lights dim?

The top post is in German. I believe the LED light bar flashes out of phase from the indicator - i.e. when indicator illuminated, LED light bar is off and vice-versa.

I think that there is a similar instruction in the Tried and Tested VCDS sticky.

My Ex MKIII VRs did this, looks cool. On my present 230 Vrs the LED bar now dims when the Indicator is Flashing, dims in Day light and side light mode

If you go in to light setup in infotainment you should have a dimmer for ambientlights (footdwell dimmer).

When you change that it will also change how the front lights behave, like us turnsignal, dim drls and so on depending on the value you dim on embient light setting..

Wow! The effects of that linear acceleration mod are dramatic and I strongly recommend doing it...

...with that said, I don't have the VRS button, so I guess these are equivalent of putting the car into Sports mode.

- Steering is tighter

- Acceleration is MUCH sharper

Feels almost like the car was tuned, since due to the acceleration curve change, the torque is available earlier.

I don't have foot well lights or the ambient light option in the menu, driving a UK 65 reg vRS 230. Anyone know if this is a feature only on non-UK cars? Recently drove a 66 plate Rapid Sport courtesy car which did have this option and was a bit miffed it isn't on my vRS....
