Can't play music over Bluetooth even though calls work fine and I see that ipod icon when my phone is connected

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I just got a second hand 2015 Rapid and it's in a great shape with full options. Unfortunately I can't play music on the car's speakers via Bluetooth,  I have an android phone and it works fine with calls but not music even though I see that ipod icon when my phone is connected. Any help is much appreciated, I was going to buy one of those multi function fm transmitters but I thought I could find a solution here, thanks in advance :).

If its one of the newer bluetooth modules you have to connect the phone as a media player as well as pairing as a phone (using the maxidot).

Can you please elaborate more?,  I don't think I saw an option to connect a media player,  only thing that appears is "connect a device" and has current and new user options only also I ticked those boxes on my phone, Bluetooth options for the car, that included media player but nothing happened,  my phone works well with an Octavia and my brother's Merc but idk why it doesn't work with this Rapid.

It is just newer premium 3c8 modules that have the option I believe. I"ve not got my car near me at present but in the bluetooth sub menu (I think) there is an option to connect a media player. The idea is you can connect the driver's phone but a passenger's music player if they think your taste in music is sh*te!!!

Just check in your Bluetooth settings on the phone for connected car device that audio box is ticked and not phone calls only

Hello OP and everyone else having this problem. I also had the same issue with a skoda superb 2013 and decided to make an account here so that others may benefit from my findings.

The quickfix for me was this:

-Start the car with phone bluetooth on.

-the car connects to only calls

-on phone disable bluetooth

-on phone enable bluetooth after 2-3 sec

-imediately select the cars bluetooth from phone so that the connection comes from the phone toward the car

-the bluetooth is now connected for calls and audio

Good luck to you all
