Look what I got to play with today....

Featured Replies

We had our first RS4 arrive today - albeit Audi(UK) training car, our own demonstrator is due anyday.

Wow -- what a car, the looks, the noise

The seats have air cushions that inflate when you hit the sport button on the steering wheel -- makes it real snug, also changes the throttle response and best of all changes the exhuast note -- and its just luurrvly.

Also found out that the 155 limiter only works in 6th gear -- so stay in fifth and you can sail past 155;)

The brake discs are huge -- 14"

So is that a 4.2 single turbo? How does it compare to its close TT cousin in the RS6? I'm drooling all over my keyboard looking at that though.

I'm also dribbling over the keyboard at the sight of that engine! Just a shame that cnetral casting isnt polished :(

I'll take 2, thanks!

That really does look awesome  - wanders off mumbling about only 312 mm on the Furby

I just wish I could afford it :D

4.2 Litre Normally Aspirated (i.e NO TURBO's) producing 414bhp with a 8250 rpm rev limit -- makes a fantastic noise.

Has a 7,000 rpm limit untill reaches operating temp - then lifted to 8250.

When you look at the central casting its perfect -- all the cast marks are smooth no rough edges anywhere.

Although the RS4 has less power than the RS6 - in real world driving, especially on b-roads the RS4 would leave the RS6 for Dead. far nimbler and much better power delivery and balance - according to the guy that was training us today -- he regularly drives the RS6 pace car for superbikes -- he was telling us when they are a Silverstone the RS6 does 2.3MPG

If you want one you'll have to be quick - the 2006 production is 650 cars -- as of 30th Jan there were 639 confirmed orders!!!

I would sell my soul for that, to quote a phrase "Iiiiiiiits Gooooorgeous !":smrbow:

What an awesome car!....thats what id get if i won the Lotto!..*dreams* stuff your Ferraris/Porsches!....4.2FSi V8 (non turbo:eek: ), 414bhp at 7,800rpm and 317lb ft at 5,500rpm and revs to 8,250rpm!!!..and all that for

er, so just HOW did you find out about the speed limiter?

Not the interesting way!!

The guy who brought the car to us is one of Audi's pro-drivers -- they get to play all around the world driving the cars for Audi -- he got to drive one in Germany, although he wasn't allowed to tell us how fast it will go -- but probably in the region of 170-175mph

Wow beautiful in black, I want I want I want!!! Hope it stops!

Wow  That is gorgeous

Far more understated than the red ones used in Evo and on TG

Yep, would be a certain Lotto purchase that one. Are they doing an Avant version?

Wow  That is gorgeous

....and some !!! Just brilliant. I love that engine. Do the Skoda RS4 rocker covers get painted green? ;):D

I have to ask, if 400+ BHP without turbos..... and 450bhp with TWO turbos.... Why bother with turbo's at all? Is it tuned a different way to an RS6 TT setup?

Just curious as to the subtle differences between the 2 engines.

We are getting our demo car anytime now --- will be sprintblue -- almost identical to Skoda Raceblue - me wonders if the "delays" on race blue are Audi putting pressure on Skoda -- Audi was to be first with this colour last October - untill they delayed release of RS4

Although the RS4 engine uses basically the same block as the S4 -- the rest of the engine is bespoke -- tougher crank, special con-rods and pistons - completely new cylinder heads with optimized flow - rather than easy production - once the like of AMD get hold if it your going to see a remap producing over 450bhp.

And the best is the thing is a pussycat to drive - clutch light and easy to use - and no rough idle from mad cams - just pure power from idle to limit -- I've never seen or heard an engine so eager to rev -- imagine the most sonorous engine note you;ve heard multiply it 1000 times and then duplicate it -- you nearly there!!!!!

The RS6 engine, was the old design 4.2 and was therfore a lot more work to get the power - hence the addition of turbo's.

So are they going to TT this new RS4 lump?!
