So are they going to TT this new RS4 lump?!

I doubt it -- there just isnt the room - -certainly not for RS4 anyway -- suppose they could for the RS6 that's coming next year apparently -- but as they have put the V10 in the S6 can't see them putting a V8 in the range topper - even if it has twin turbos

We were told late last year by someone from Audi who should know -- that they are hoping for around 700bhp !!!!! for the RS6

This engine will be going in the R8 supercar - so I spose they could TT it for that

humanah humanah! Oh Lord, won't you buy me an Audi RS4.....

Yes they are going to do Avant - AND a cabriolet

That just would be it for me - an RS4 Avant - epic!

Steve

Beautiful in every way...except the Barry Manilow corporate nose.Fools

I dont wont one at all.........................honest!

Who am I kidding I WANT ONE :o

When you look at the central casting its perfect -- all the cast marks are smooth no rough edges anywhere.

Hmmm, just been looking at the engine pic with a colleague. Is the manifold a casting or an injection moulding (i.e. plastic)?

Ohhhh That is Gorgeous! Can I have a Yellow One with Anthracite wheels please :D

The Noise from a V8 sends tingles down my spine;) Got any Sound clips?????

No cheap plastic crap for Audi! Bet it'll be cast Alloy.....Look at all the Sexy C/Fibre under there too, I'd spend as much time polishing/cleaning under the hood as driving the thing:rofl:

Looks like it's moulded. Probably glass filled nylon if it is.

It's surprising how many inlet manifolds are plastic these days.

Yes but aluminium is heavier than plastic and the inlet manifold is located on top of the engine. C of G... ..or does Audi not worry about handling attributes (commence flaming !!)

Just noticed the floating discs aswell........mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

Sure It said in a previous post it was alloy!

Jon- I noticed the Discs too! Cool Eh???? Reckon If I get Smartly dressed Up and Blag it Lookers might give me a test drive :)

It's definately metal casting' date='although not sure what its made up of - Audi use a lot of magnesium, so probably an alloy mix

Unlike a lot of cars these days that have fake "Carbon" fibre the engine covers you see are the real deal - although strangely the "Carbon" trim inside isnt carbon fibre as we now it - although it does use carbon weave

Audi have gone to great lengths to improve the handling of this car -- bonnet & Wings made of Aluminium, change of quattro drivetrain to allow as much as 70% rear wheel drive plus the latest variant of DRC -- which links diagonally apposed shock absorbers so that if the N/S/F shock drops into a hole the system pumps fluid from the O/S/R to pump it up and so on,.

Yes that's certainly going to be nice....

We've got a 5.2 V10 S8 demonstrator arriving in June -- complete with the cermaic brake option :)

If the V10 is able to rev like the RS4's V8 it's going to be VERY special

£4500 for ceramics IIRC :)

So S6 is getting the same engine as the S8?
