All leads look in good condition and the car only has 33k on it. I am guessing it's either the coil pack, spark plugs or leads.

Will book it back in but presume by disabling the cylinder I am not going to kill the cat by limping the car home until it can be looked at? I gather it will also disable the injector stopping fuel going in?

Checking the coil pack I presume it is just the one which is for all four spark plugs?

Anyone have any luck with the primary cause?  I have heard there might be a new revision of HT leads out?

Cheers,

Chris

Yea it disables fueling / coilpack , if compression is good will either be , spark plugs coils or faulty wiring :) or you could have a dodgy injector

Also the 1.2 tsi is distributor cap and ht leads job isn't it :)

Common fault those HT leads going faulty try changing the ht leads like put cylinder three in cylinder two and see if the missfire moves to cylinder two

One of the spark plugs (cylinder 3) was black so looks like a lead breakdown.  Since the leads and plugs had 30k on them they were changed and all is well again.

For info, plugs were £17 each and the leads were £63.

What Spark Plugs did you fit that cost you £17 each?

That is Skoda main dealer pricing. I paid a bit less.
