Heated Seats not as good as they use to be

Featured Replies

After 35K miles and the setting set to 5  Nicci is complaining that the passenger seat doesn't heat up as quick or as much as the drivers seat. the dealers had a look (:P Scoobychris) but can't find anything wrong.

Anyone had the same problem or have any ideas?

The heated driver's seat on my car (at 53k miles) only got lukewarm compared to the passenger seat and the garage I bought it from got it replaced for me under warranty with no fuss. They didn't tell me what was wrong with it, but they said I got 2 new heating mats.

Hmmmm - I guess that's no real help at all  Did the dealer say what they checked?

Perhaps, being winter, she's wearing bigger pants so the heat takes longer to reach her bum ? ;)

Maybe being winter it's got to heat up from a little colder than normal....

Perhaps the seats have been cleaned, elements have got wet allowing the copper elements to start to corrode?

Just a thought.

Thats what I thought.

Compared to the drivers heated seat. The passenger one is poor.

Does copper corrode when it's in contact with water?

Chris

Maybe its limescale? Bit of Calgon will sort that:

Cool I'll have to get some see through seat covers.

If your passenger seat is corroded I think you need to improve your driving :D
