Cleaned the Superb today

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Gave the Superb a quick going over just now with my new Stanley pressure washer. Bought for £82 from B&Q it's a decent unit. 130 bar pressure, 2200w motor. The Lance is good with decent variable adjustment. It comes with a detergent bottle too which I used to use the remnants of my ezcarcare snowfoam as I'm yet to find a suitable attachment for the Stanley.

Rinsed the car

Used EZ Car Care Cherry Bomb shampoo and 2 bucket method with a Meguires Lambs Wool mitt.

Rinsed again

Chamois leather over the car and glass

EZ Car Care wheel cleaner (names escapes me for a second!)

Then began to use EZ Car Care Chrome before the weather looked like it was going to turn so I stopped.

A couple of pics!

EZ Car Care stuff is really good value for money and the Cherry Bomb and Chrome smell beautiful!!!!!

Get rid of the chamois leather!! You may as well use sand paper. Get a couple of plush drying towels, lint free glass cloths and some speed detailer spray. I've provided a few link to give you an idea. Follow my easy guide..

1. Rinse

2. Spray the car with detailer spray

3. Spray a little on the first towel

4. Place the towel on the bonnet or roof and pat dry or hold the towel at one end and gently pull along till all the towel leaves the body of the car, repeating on each side.

5. Dry the rest of the car, making sure the towel dose not hit the floor. Fold in half for example. If the towel becomes too sodden, use the second once a spray of detailer has been used. Check for drips and clean away.

6. Clean the glass with decent glass cleaner and lint free cloths.

7. Wipe the alloys

8. Notice the difference!!

As above Re chamois, I only use a chamois to dry the glass now, a good waffle weave drying cloth can be obtained for a little over £6. I can reccomend the water wizard, I can dry the whole car without ringing. Another advantage of these towels is they are machine washable. As far as drying goes the above advice is very sound and will result in much less swirling cased by drying. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002Y9DEIA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
