What is Exclusive edition?

Featured Replies

Looking at upgrading to a Skoda Superb, and came across a Skoda Superb 4x4 EXCLUSIVE TDI 2.0 125kW from 2014 with 158000 KM.

Have not heard of an Exclusive model, and search came with little.

Can anyone fill me in?

Perhaps they meant Elegance.

At least in Estonia it's very common for car sellers to put random fancy words on car ads such as BUSINESS, EXCLUSIVE, ELEGANCE, HIGHLINE and so on, on any car, any brand, just in hope of standing out a little more amongst the other ads. Commoners are stupid enough to believe such non-sense and feel free to brag about their newly purchased Lada Duster Quattro Business Deluxe.

Even Skoda itself has put a COMFORT label on some Superbs here. Is that even actual thing?

Seems like Wikipedia has some input here:

Trim levels available in the majority of Europe were named the 'Comfort', 'Ambition', 'Elegance', 'Greenline', 'Exclusive' and 'Laurin & Klement' (May 2012) – with Laurin & Klement being top of the range.

Regardless, what could the expected mileage be on a 4x4 TDI 2.0 125kW?

Nevermind.

Every second advert in Estonia has " Exclusive Deluxe Facelift OMG WTF".

Some morons trying to get more attention.

Thanks for the warning.

Expected mileage - what do you mean?

It runs quite well. I have done 211 000 kms now.

Expenses besides the regular services, includind work itself:

xenons self levelling unit, ca 200.-

seat heater element, ca 200.-

flywheel, ca 1500.-

Almost all at 180 000 kms.

I remember seeing a Superb on display in a shopping mall in Klaipeda, Lithuania in 2008 when the MkII was first released and noting the model was Ambition, which was intriguing as to what equipment you got as this model was not available in the UK.

The trim levels in Baltics were Active, Ambition, Elegance and L&K.

I've taken my car several times to the Baltic region and have visited Lithuania, Latvia, Kaliningrad and Belarus but don't remember seeing another L & K in any of those countries.  Do you have the same wheels as we get in the UK on an L & K model?  If I see another Superb, that's what I usually look for to identify an L & K.

Yes, the same 18" Sirius alloys.

L&K in not very common here.

I guess it was the price - starting at 31 000 euros. You could get pretty well loaded Passat or fully loaded Mondeo for this.

Mine cost 43 000 - basic Merc E 220 was cheaper.

Wow, I paid £24,000 - not surprised they're not very common over there!  At the current exchange rate, that's about €28,300.

Most of the Superbs in Estonia and most likely the rest of the Baltics are in peasant trim. Comfort, Active, Ambition, maybe. The Superb S2 was and is a very popular police, taxi and company car and now there are a lot of used ones for sale, since many are being changed out for newer cars. The vast majority of them seem to be in peasant spec, so Swing radio, no steering wheel controls, no climatronic, no chrome trim on the front bumper or around the windows. Mostly sedans, DSG's are quite common. Halogen lights are rarer than Xenons. Few estates were purchased as company cars and many have been imported.

The current bargain basement price for a new Superb S3 with no trickery is €18 990 and with the S2, most of them were taken as cheaply as possible. Brand snobbery is huge here and nobody considered Škoda as a luxury car worthy of purchase back then. That has changed with the S3, most of them seem to be in mid-range trim, but I've never really looked. Even my girlfriend from back then was absolutely baffled when she saw that I had purchased a Superb. My other car is a Lexus and she had a BMW, she could not wrap her head around the fact that Škodas can be good cars.
