Forman Trunck Issue - Finding guidance before trying to fix it myself

Featured Replies

Hello, I'm owner of a Skoda Forman LX - 1995. I have an issue since I can't open the trunck without holding it with one hand. Please see the attachment to know what is the part that is broken (I have no idea what is the name of it because this is my first car and I'm just learning).

I ended it up with the base holder in my hand and I feel that some kind of nut fell down inside the structure.

I'll appreciate any guidance to fix it myself. Do I need to open the structure just to put a nut? Will I go better if I weld the base holder to the structure? :biggrin:

Thanks a lot.

I've never been entirely clear what that sort of pin is called either, but you're correct that it should be secured by a "captive nut" in the door post. I don't know a "clever trick" for positioning and securing a new nut either.

If you could get a 'rivnut' with the same thread that could be a nice solution.

That is a ball stud. I am afraid that you can't fix the captive nut using the original ball stud.
