Also discussed up-rated roll bars and lowering so that will be happening n the near future.

I have also decided not to go for the Rieger rear diffuser due to not being able to live without a towbar although I'm not sure if it could be cut to allow a tow hitch? anyone tried?

Whats the score with Traffic sign recognition, do you need certain things to be able to enable it? Lane assist or something?

Yeah you need the lane assist camera

How's the high beam assist working. I collected my car Monday. Hope to be activating this shortly.

Very responsive it’s actually surprised me, I was expecting to end up not using it but that hasn't been the case.

Ive only had one occasion on a roundabout where it didn’t dip but that’s it.

I will be deactivating the traffic sign recognition though, don’t like it’s placement on the the screen and it sometimes misses the signs.

Rieger rear diffuser with tow hatch has arrived in the worlds biggest box, pretty excited, hoping it will be a nice improvement.

Dropped it straight off at Detailers to be prepped and ceramic coated.

UPDATE: Got the diffuser back so should have it fitted on Saturday if weather allows.

Spelling & Picture Update

So in theory are these ready to go straight on? Tempted by the rear and the front lip for mine, plus maybe a little drop, if they don’t need spraying etc then it’s pretty cost effective.

be interesting to see how hard fitting is as well, as I would fit the other tail pipe at the same time ready for the twin exit exhaust (it bugs me now it’s cold that it only steams from 1 side.. sad I know but I am a little OCD on things like this)

Had a brief look while washing the car today, looks like the rear bumper needs to come off to make life easier.

I plan to do do it tomorrow so will see then.

Picture doesn't do it justice, makes the rear look so much nicer!

I removed the rear bumper to fit it but was informed afterwards that if you remove the exhaust tips you can gain access to it all, however if you don't have a ramp like me bumper removal is probably the easiest way to go.

That looks great, how much was it?

Does look good, defo one for the list.

How hard is it to remove the actual trim then either with the tips removed or the bumper off? I have a ramp and pit at work so possibly something I could do in my lunch hour or after work perhaps?

€220 with the exhaust adaptor and Postage. Turns out the adaptor isn’t needed....

Was really easy with the bumper off, 4 Screws in each rear arch (1 behind the liner).

3 screws for each rear light then it’s just a matter of careful pressure in the right places to remove it.

Its probably a similar amount of screws to remove the exhaust tips and simpler with ramp use.

I gave the back end and inside side of bumper a good clean while it was off as it looked like this!

I've had this week off so in between the rain I've be doing bits to the car. Pretty much a new car prep that I do everytime I get a new motor:

Serviced - oil, filter, fuel filter, BMC air filter. I also removed the baffle from the air box and drilled out part of the front air scoop with the intention of taking a Dremel to it to make it neater.

My wheels spacers also went on which makes the wheels sit close where I feel they should have been from factory.

Bought a roof rack and boot liner. The boot liner fits nicely but isn't as good as the autoform one I had in the jetta. Also had some Michelins PS4's put on the front, it had continentals with life left in them but couldn't get on with them, just didn't seem to have the grip levels I wanted.

Bought LED's to do an interior light conversion and also replaced the bottom trim on both keys.

Also gave it what seems to be its first every proper clean, Snowfoam, degrease, wash, iron off, tar remover, wash, clayed, wash, rinse, waxed and rain X. This also gave me chance to inspect the bodywork which is fairly good condition, several stone chips on the front that have been filled in with paint pen but its three years old so it to be expected.

I would like to get it properly detailed as the swirls are fairly bad.

While playing more with VCDS and activating some random bits I noticed that all the cruise control bits/bites are activated and installed, I however don't have the cruise control stalk so could this been fitted and work?

Where did you get the wheel spacers what width did you take them to?

@fjrden I got them from Alex at AKSTuning when I had my Jetta, I think they're 15mm Rear and 8mm Front but couldn't be sure.

Could definitely go bigger though on the vRS.

I hate winter for keeping the car clean.... only washed it last weekend! It’s clean again now for the next five minutes :D

Also ordered some Team Heko Wind Deflectors, LED reverse lights (only ordered one doh!) and booked in at Shark Performances for a DSG remap.

I also made a few VCDS tweaks, I’ve disabled Traffic sign recognition as it was driving me nuts coming up with the restrictioned notification plus I wasn’t even using it.

Also changed the clock to auto change time.
