That looks like a really good job.  Can I ask how long it took and if you needed any special kits other than what came in the box?  I have a similar present left by someone outside my house.  Have a dent I need to pull first but there are a few bits very similar to your damage.

Didnt take long at all however I washed my car first and made sure I decontaminated the area I wash going to repair. I polished out the scuff with Meguires Ultimate Compound however I'm fairly confident the chipex polish would have had the same effect.

The repair itself took me no more than 20 minutes. I made sure to read the instructions over and over until it had fully sunk in. The colour match is perfect!

Two weeks before cambelt and water pump is due....... Pretty sure its the water pump that has failed :dull:

The water pump had shat its pants in a really weird way, the bearing had gone and was letting water through the centre of the pully!

I don't know why but the car feels quicker since the Cam-belt and Water pump change?! Even the wife has noticed it!

It makes no sense, I'm thinking its the RARB allowing more speed on the twisty's but even in a straight line over taking it seems to move quicker....

However thinking about it if the water pump has been on the way out for a while maybe that has effected power?

Trying to think what would be the engine symptoms of a dicky water pump.  It may be quicker to heat up due to the slower flow of the water or if the impeller was blocked it would be sapping energy to drive it.

A more likely situation IMO is that the old belt was stretched putting the timing out enough to affect peak output but not enough for it to stop running.  A cam runs at half the speed of a crank so 10deg out on the cambelt is only 5 on the overall timing.  Could be that the old belt was stretched or out by a tooth.  Has it had one before? guessing not by the age...

The car never over heated once, just randomly lost its coolant while driving one day.... this was its first belt change too so I'm assuming the same as you and that the old belt was shot so the timing had tweaked!

Just stumbled across this thread and impressed!

When you've done your various bulb changes have you had to edit the canbus?? I fancy doing bulbs but canbus stuff is beyond me. 😞

Not for the interior LED's but for reverse lights etc... I had to make adjustments with VCDS. More than happy to lend a hand with my VCDS given you're so local to me!

Awesome thanks!

Didn't realise you were local - it'll be a little while until the bank balance allows - it's spending time at AKS currently. 😁

What you having done? I need to pop in and get some oil off them.

Springs & brake lines this time. They chipped it back in march. Awaiting delivery of spacer to so go with wheels. Might start a thread at some point for it but don't come on here that much.

Yep! Wouldn’t dream of not using them, just can’t see them as they’re under the subframe

They’ve arrived and had the first coat of platinum wheels!

Not sure this thread can be classed as OEM+ now?!

I've just read this thread from start to now. It's a nice car and you've kept it nice and subtle.

Those wheels suit it really well. The car's so angular I don't think there's many wheels to suit it but they do.

Cruise control is fitted, had it done by Alex Retro. He did a great job but to be honest I should have done it myself, there was absolutely nothing I would have had trouble with.... sometimes though its better to leave it to someone else.

Anyone thinking of using him I would fully recommend him!

Also cleaned the cars with the wife at the weekend, it would appear she finds in amusing to cover me in snow foam!
