Rear Shocks - Replacement

Featured Replies

Car just been in for service. Found that one of the rear shocks needs replacing. Dealer quoted to replace one 168.00 GBP, ouch!  Looking on this site found how too, so it seems easy enough.

Does anyone have the part numbers for the individual components, bolts, nuts, dust cover, bump stop, damper, top mount etc.

Standard suspension for Superb II Estate CR170 DSG.

Any recommendations on OEM damper?

Thanks in advance

Look at the price from the dealer for the parts.

Its ts always a good start point.

Hi had mine done at the last MOT(june 1st) and service by a Ford specilaist, next door to where I work. they were not genuine items but here are the prices;

MCD0302 Maxtrac Shocker £49.99 each plus £77 labour~1.25 hours I think so £176.98 for both sides. Not bad my spanner days have expired now, unless I really have to I'd rather keep somone in work than save a few quid. For comparison use Euro carparts or GSF. I haven't noticed any adverse noise or harshness since their replacement. Hope this helps.
