Where are you seeing the L&K similar? Currently getting quoted £60/month more on a 2.0TSi L&K Hatch(£364) over a 2.0TSi Arteon R-Line(£307). Only adding metallic paint and towbar.

If I could get same price I'll stick with Skoda.

Hi

This was on Nationwide Vehicle Contracts, but on 20k PA. Could be quite different over a shorter mileage allowance as the manufacturers will give additional support to get back a retail ready car as opposed to be 60k used model.

  • The Arteon commands a high price for a car that is just bordering on premium when for similar (or close enough) money can get an A5 which is full-on premium.  I still think the Arteon will be a slight

No, don't give up on motorcycling, I've just turned 60 but I refuse to give up on my bikes, in April 2016 i sold my beloved Yamaha R1 Super sports, this was for serious reasons, the riding position pl

  • Yes both are a Option, and with my AMG package the dash is in leather, with open cell wood, and so on... the Superb is 2 classes below that, but also costs half as much   And the Diesel engine on

I'm only looking for 10K. Nationwide are worse than Skoda for me. I have got a lot nearer now though. Only £20 different. Skoda dealer too!

Just recently i was looking on Arteon R line and i have to say thats looking a way better then A5 sportback, have plenty od leg room on back seats, like superb and overall have fantastic line and design. Now there is one more thing that making this car even more interesting for some of us. Volkswagen its preparing a R-version of Arteon with 3.0 vr6 turbo engine and 404bhp. Its quite possible that thia car will be present on Geneva motor show in March. And i have this feeling that i will go for this car in a right time... Unless skoda will present Superb vRS.

Have to agree, the new A5 Sportback is pretty miserable looking, not to mention very under-specced for the price.

Interestingly, lease prices are showing considerably cheaper for the 190 tdi as opposed to the 150.

My son generally went for A6s as for the same price he got far more bells & whistles on an A6 than he got on an A5 - and the A5 sportback has a tiny boot.

Lease prices are affected by deals and second hand values - what that is telling you is that 150s depreciate more than 190s so 190a are in more demand second hand.

Id be very surprised if VW UK or VW Ireland sell the VR6 model.

I do like these. I was eying one up when my mam was buying her Golf.

PCH same price as my Superb Sportline for a R line model (petrol though not diesel)

Is the rear legroom space the same? I just need to have an estate at the moment and I find the middle rear seat in the Superb a good width.

Whats not to like on one one of these

They must have come down a bit since launch - they were silly money when they first came about.

I considered one, but could get a 5 series quite a bit cheaper when I looked.

Great looking car though, would have one over an A5 sportback, but it’s just a bit of a shame they didn’t make the interior a little bit more exciting than the Passat (lovely though it may be).

i reckon those Arteon wheels would look brilliant on the Superb :)

tis a shame they're 20" rims though.......

Excuse reviving an old thread... I have an Arteon on order, the 1.5 TSI Elegance DSG.

Design is all subjective of course, but for me the look of the Arteon beats the Superb hands down, and the interior might not be terribly exciting but it’s a really delightful place to sit in.

I was a couple of weeks away from delivery on a Superb L&K in July 16, before Skoda cancelled the order in the online brokers debacle, so I never actually owned one but have been in one quite a few times so have a bit of a basis for comparison. The Superb is a lovely car and I’d happily own one but the Arteon feels and looks more premium, to me anyway.

Mine will be on a 3+23 lease at £258 per month. That’s with 9k miles and about £450 of extras. Kept it in the free grey, would’ve loved the Turmeric but seemed a little wasted money on a lease. I did have a look at Superbs but couldn’t see anything at that sort of price.

I am sure the arteon will beat the superb in refinement especially noise levels if reviews are to be believed.

The superb is basically everything you'd get for the best price compared to anything on the market like for like except it skimps on insulation and the tiny premium touches like trim to cover painted metal window frames etc.

Still loving mine as it's an upgrade over the previous car. Plus the power as it's a 280. Wheeee.....

If there had been a Superb at the right price when I was looking in the autumn I would hands down have ordered that. As it was, I ordered and Octavia on lease at the end of October, deciding I'd save some money (compared to my current PCP) and still have a decent new car but then a couple of weeks ago I saw the offers on the Arteon and couldn't help but completely change my mind, so I cancelled the Octy and ordered the Arteon. I think part of the appeal for me is that you hardly ever see one on the roads so they feel a bit more exclusive...and just look so damn great! :D

Literally the day after you posted about ordering an Arteon I seen one (that's 3 now), it was in flat maroon colour which I can't see on the configurator now.  It looked good.

I think I’ve only seen two, that I remember. Weirdly, I saw one just a few days before I saw the lease offer.

There’s a second hand R-Line at my local VW garage which they’re obviously not keen to shift. I went and asked to look at it (didn’t want it just wanted to sit inside etc) and they were “too busy” so took my details, promising to call me and never bothered. I had to go to a different town to find one in a showroom so I could actually get inside one!

Sat in one of these (Alfa Romeos) at the weekend - I agree the outside is lovely but the inside is cramped, uncomfortable and cheap looking.

Is the waiting room at the service garage nice too... ? :giggle:
