Well it is my job to deal with BREXIT on virtually a day to day basis with my job as the customs compliance analyst for one of the largest logistics companies in the UK and the largest in France, top 5 in Europe so kind of close to the issues.

In my previous job I spent some time dealing with the imports for Kia/Hyundai and much of my work at the moment is helping companies plan for BREXIT.

If we want to treat ourselves to a nice car when one retires ie take that 25% tax free lump sum and buy a nice car for retirement it is important to build a good size pension pot but also protect it against the fallout of BREXIT ie invest plenty in oversea bonds which hedges against another big GB pound fall as we had after the BREXIT vote.

Had a nice ix35 when I was in Ireland a few weeks ago, and relative just acquired a Sportage, both OK but nothing special.  Lots of big challenges coming up for car retailers, about a 5% fall after the change in VED rules and now with the steep rise in inflation car sales are taking a hit..  http://www.cityam.com/267886/uk-car-sales-hit-brakes-and-fall-third-month-row

BREXIT may not be hitting life as someone in local government in Sheffield (is HS2 going to stop in Sheffield?) but it will affect as all as it is affecting all consumers as we are seeing via the re-emergence of inflation as we saw in 2010 to 2012 !

United Kingdom Inflation Rate

Guess you need a very accurate crystal ball in your professional work, because if the UK Government haven't got a F... clue how the UK will be affected by the post Brexit deal (whatever that means) how the F ..... can you in your business and above all giving out advice giving out to Joe Public.

Good luck in your strength of UK and Global currency gambling and security of your pension and pension pot.

Amazing how quickly the Government can change the rules when the Treasury / B of E come under  threat.

Still we can always rely on the USA ( Donald Trump).China ,Japan ,India........????

Dream on this, Country is going up the creak with out a paddle of a F.......g rudder.

So once again you post a lot about Brexit and your situation but very little about the i30N which was the point of this thread.

And just what makes you think I work for local Government in Sheffield and able to pass comment about my situation??

My simple point was that if one was going to buy an i30N then best do it before BREXIT as appears likely it will be much more expensive after BREXIT actually happens.

I thought you had said you worked in/for Local Government in a previous post, apologies if I got that wrong.  Not aware that I had commented at all "on your situation", even though you did use the term "bleating" on me publicly against one of my post. Live long and prosper.

Wait until the UK Government expels all those from the UK, then the bankers and finance industry foreign nationals all hopping off to continental europe and they are flogging off their nearly new right hand drive prestige vehicles for 'much cheapness'.

Not getting to take them to the RoI if that is were they are going etc.

All those 'Ex Management cars' that the Manufacturers will have to shift on as they will be offski as well..

Lets see.

Just think of the bargains in the millions of used cars sitting on forecourts all over the UK as Dealerships fold and there is mass unemployment.

Your £20,000 once the pound crashes will buy you a lovely £40,000 car this year for £10,000 or 20 magic beans.

Well as the industry ie International Logistics, that has to physically cope with the aspects of BREXIT, all we can do is to have the systems in place to handle the potential traffic, both the data traffic for the customs declarations, and physically if goods are delayed in processing the goods through customs.

I was a Customs Officer in 1992 ie as the Single Market was formed, and although we have progressed somewhat in the electronic customs declaration field, and I worked for seven years for the largest of the specialist software house, Descartes/Impatex, it is a daunting challenge as the NAO report I tagged in the BREXIT discussion thread.

Car retailing employees a lot of people in the UK and us consumers do like our new cars, it is a highlight of our lives sometimes.  Hyundai/Kia are selling cars to a billion plus people in the West plus some to China and India though much smaller though they sell almost a million cars in their home country and produce some interesting models too...

Probably think I might have more faith in your very accurate Crystal Ball or super systems workplace software or my finger in the air, rather than Mrs May's toss pot ministers.

Think we might all be relegated to a Boris Bike within 2years. https://uk.search.com/wr_clk?surl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cnet.com%2Fuk%2Fnews%2Flondons-boris-bikes-can-now-be-booked-from-your-phone%2F&pingUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bingapis.com%2Fapi%2Fping%3FIG%3DEE5DBFCA43A84D7E81B707B983CE465E%26CID%3D200275C5ED6A650932F27F07EC356459%26ID%3D&urlPingSuffix=DevEx,5077.1&keyword=boris johnson bicycle&qsrc=0&amp=false&q=boris johnson bicycle&src=jo&clickid=15244223238813889097&udv=&ude=&udvo=&kwid=&agid=&gch=370&tc=401&qm=&au=11651629&tt=T0000370

Oh! Still not have £350m a week extra for the NHS

This might be my option for Fun when I pawn the house off

I still quite like the Hyundai. Remember, the new performance model mentioned at the beginning of this thread? Maybe take the 'associated' issues to another thread?

I do hope it'll be available in a range of colours though :)

Nice if there is a 5 year / 100,000 mile warranty and also it covers track use since that is part of how it is being sold and all from a manufacturer in the Czech Republic.

Now there is a trick that Skoda miss, but then they are not into building cars that aspire to track use or with any sporty pretensions.
