Failed CV boot and (possibly) subframe bush

Featured Replies

 Hi all.

My 16 plate VRS' CV boot appears to have failed. Its done less than 15k. 1 year and 1 month old.

Three weeks after having the car the wheel bearing was replaced due to it being noisy. I don't know whether the dealership would have damaged the boot, or it's just failed. Either way there's a lot of grease around the knuckle and inside of the wheel.

Any one else had one fail in a short amount of time?

I'm not expecting to have to pay and have it done under warranty, is that fair?

Also there's grease on the wishbone to subframe bush. Are these grease filled? Or is this from something else?

Ta.

they're both knackered, get it sorted asap cv boot is realy cheep to fix unlike replacing the whole drive shaft.

Not being cynical but to replace the wheel bearing the drive shaft needs to come out, so it has to have been done during this or after this replacment,  it just takes a nic in the gator and when the joint heats up the grease is more fluid and it leaks every where.
