Hi all, I've been hunting around the old threads but can't find anything similar so here goes...

 

On my 2008 1.9td DSG BXE engined Octavia I've changed the indicator stalk for one with cruise control built in, rebuilt everything and, using my cheapo USB - OBD2 cable and VCDS-Lite I have activated it using the 11463 code. However, on driving up to speed and trying to activate the CC I get nothing. On return to base VCDS-Lite reports the following fault under Engine - Cruise Control Switch (E45): Implausible Signal P0568 - 008 - Implausible Signal. My questions:

 

1. Should I have fitted a cable somewhere? I haven't as my understanding was the 2008 model year shouldn't need one.

2. Should I have reprogrammed my J527 controller like this guy does from about 9mins in? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwfQTsJ4nv4 if so, I can't get VCDS-Lite to connect to anything other than Engine/Gearbox modules as the cable's so cheap I think.

3. Is there anybody in Northampton/Birmingham areas who could possibly help out please for beer tokens? We are taking the car away on holiday next Friday so I'm desperate to get this working, got a monster drive ahead.

Have you recoded the steering wheel controller?

 

Existing code will be something like  0000012

 

New code will be   0000042

Hi Trev, thanks for replying - no, I missed that step out. TBH I couldn't do it anyway with VCDS-Lite and my cheapo USB cable. I am trying to sort out an alternative but good to know you're not too far away, thanks for the offer. Do you have VCDS?

Hi Chris,

 

There lies your problem, you have to tell the steering controller it has CC fitted.

 

Yes I have full VDCS, so if you can't do it with yours, pop round and I will do it for you if you wish.
