Occasionally, often after just getting into the car, I get two or three loud thumping noises from the Columbus speakers.

This happens before I even put the key in the ignition and so before the unit is turned on.

It sound rather like the sort of noise you might get if you touched a battery across the wires of a bass speaker.

Other than that there are no other symptoms I've noticed and the unit seems to work fine.

As far as I can tell it has never happened when the unit is turned on.

 

Anyone else had this or anyone have any idea what is causing it?

Hi, did you get around this issue at all?

i’ve got  Columbus head unit in my Fabia Monte Carlo and it’s doing this, but continuously. Even after you’ve turned everything off and locked the car. 

No and its now getting worse.

I'm looking into sending it away for repair, possibly to this place http://rns510repairserviceuk.com/  if someone can tell me if they are legit, or to Rustynuts on this forum .

Has anybody else had this problem found some brocken wires in door near hinge repaired them but nois still there not low voltage, fault says no siglal/communication with driver side door control module.
