Are the A bars thinner on a Golf than a Fabia?

It might just be that superlative shine confusing me of course ;)

Glad you found something you're happy with Richard - looks to have the wrong badge on the back though ;)

You'll have to remap it up to 130 now, to match the red D and I :D

Not the case spoke to a VW dealer about this and it's a case of what they decide to put on it. I was getting told about the techies monkeying about and making allsorts of models up. Golf T I T anyone

The TDI badging depended on the dealer being bothered to change what came from the factory for the obsessed UK market.. The PD100 was a new addition on a 51 and when it was launched they decided TDI was for PD (for a few months anyhow) . Then VW changed their mind and went back to all silver.

The usual rule of thumb is :

TDI - 90 or later PD100

TDI - 110

TDI - PD115 or PD130. Some early PD100s

TDI - PD150. This was usually changed to GTI.

There's not a huge spec difference between the S and SE. On a 51 you are probably looking at Aircon replacing the Sunroof, the Gamma stereo with additional single CD and velour seats.

Good call on finding a TDI. The petrol 1.6s tend to have "electrical" issues. I bought a year old Bora 1.6 which I then ran for 5 years and always regretting not getting a TDI.

meet in southampton tomorrow.

um rich-does that mean you and laura are going to go to the wsm meet now?

well i never used the aircon on the last one... used up what little power i had!!, i've got windows and until now people have survived without! Sat-Nav and ipod were going in anyway so if it had CD player or not i wasn't bothered.

And what on earth are velour seats?

I was well happy with the leccy roof in the Bora as I like a bit of proper fresh air. Aircon is handy when it's boiling hot outside and you are stuck on the motorway. Opening the roof at 70 tends to get a bit noisy and distracts from listening to my tunes!

Velour seats ... erm posh cloth that sort of resembles velvet and has a pile like carpet.

Oh right! Well i'm sure i'll manage without!

A step upwards, from your previous car, nice one :)

Nice one Rich, Don't suppose some meaty wheels are on your list of mods? ;)

The GTI wheels are very tasty if you're looking for inspiration

I'm sure you'll find a few sets you like on the uk-mkivs classified section.

If you want to change from the current wheels of course...
