A Few Questions About My new Car

Featured Replies

2015 Elegance Estate 16K miles.

  • Can I mute the SATNAV voice completely? - on the previous car there was a "spoken instruction deactivated" function - can't find similar, other than turning the instruction volume down, which affects the radio when a command is spoken.

  •  When my phone connects, Columbus switches to Aux mode every time - meaning I have to press radio again to get a station - not a biggie but annoying. - any thoughts?

  • Is there a way of displaying the MPH as a digital readout in between the clocks - it's just useful? Or can I change the current secondary kph to mph?

Thank you,

I think any "European " car has to show speed somewhere in kph. I think it's possible if you change the car to have Australian settings

But no separate mph digital readout as a main feature on the dash?

Like here, where the 42.8/7028 shows (I couldn't find an MPH shot)

Answers to the first two should be in your owner's manual. If you're missing it, you can download it from Skoda's website. I would imagine the second is some sort of Bluetooth autoplay feature.

Thanks - I have the owners manual, but the answers aren't jumping out at me - I thought it better to ask for experiences of the car from owners.

As I recall, from my now sold Superb, the Sat Nav volume has a discrete volume control located under "Set Up".

Thanks - I'll have a look tomorrow.

To turn the sat nav volume down, press the right hand side button to recall the last spoken command, and while it's telling you the direction instructions turn the volume down. This only affects the sat nav volume, not the other volume functions.

The following applied to the Columbus (maybe morem I only have the Columbus)

The answers are not in the owners manual, but the columbus manual:

In settings/navigation: you can make the following changes

The satnav instructions come in 3 forms. On, Dynamic and off. The dynamic is the most annoying; if the route gets changed it reminds you of the fact every 2 minutes or so! With it switched off, you can get it to speak to you only if you want it to, just once by pressing the R/H dial on the Columbus unit

Set to on, you can interrupt each announcement by pressing the L/H roller dial on the stering wheel.

Very helpful, thanks. Appropriate buttons found and pressed today
