Sump cover ripped off today... help with replacements

Featured Replies

Need a bit of help. My sump cover got ripped off on one side today.

Fortunatly, it still looks useable, only one screw hole has been ripped through.

However, one of the plastic trim bits it screws to under the wheels is buggered.

Can anyone tell me what this bit of trim is called so I can get a new (second hand) one please

Do you mean the undertray?

If that's the technical terminology yes !

You don't really need it dude.

The undertray keeps the engine bay reasonably clean and must help with aerodynamics too. B&Q will probably have the spring clip fastener or search on Ebay or any hardware shop or small garage.

It's not the spring clips/screws that I need, it's the plastic bit that the tray screws into that's broken

If it's the under tray, it's all in one, scrappy or see if anything in parts sale page. TPS would be a new part.

What year and model Fabia is it?

2002, 1.4 petrol hatchback

I presume it's 16 valve as I have the 8 valve and it doesn't have a sump cover?

Can you see the part on here?...

At least the rearmost screw goes into the bottom of the arch liner, I think? Maybe that's what's being described as the buggered plastic under the wheel?

It could be it, but I'm not entirely sure, I will take a photo tommorow

just found these... looks rather cheap but appears to be the right bit

Better take OEM- fits perfectly (and it's important since there's no room for extra maneuvers) and plastic is good- will not crack after 1st winter.

And yes, I know how much it costs :-( have replaced it after accident...

Took this rubbish photo this evening of the part of the bottom of the buggered plastic bit, think you are right that it's the arch liner

NO Pic.

Isn't that just the 'captive nut' bit (item 3 in TMB's parts pic above) having slid off, rather than anything more drastic?

If it is just this, a replacement captive nut thingy will be about 50p I should think, including VAT! Hang on while I find the part number.

N 0154391 I think.

I don't think it's part three that's just come off. The plastic the under tray screws to has bent out of shape (i.e. I couldn't screw it back on, and the undertrained wouldn't move back into position to screw it in
