Good Deal?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Speaking to a dealer this afternoon about an Octavia lease deal;

Mileage per annum: 10000

Model: new Skoda Octavia SE Technology 2.0TDi 150Ps Manual Hatch.  Solid Paint. Pacific Blue

Initial rental: £2490

23 X Monthly rentals of £139

Is this a reasonable deal? I thought it was pretty good....

Is there anyone else i should be checking out on this?

Thanks all.

Sounds good to me although others on here might disagree !

Check a site like contracthireandleasing.com - compares deals from loads of different brokers, so you'll see if you're getting a good deal.

To me though, those figures don't look too bad at all!

Looks like a standard 9+23 deal from Simpsons, if you work out the cost p.a. I was finding contracthireandleasing.com had 3+35 deals that worked out £ 4 to 500 p.a. cheaper

Upto you if you wanna change cars every 2 years

Annual 10k miles isn't much. Are you sure you want a diesel?

Splash out a bit more on a decent colour though....pacific blue is flat navy blue...its not good IMO, shows all the dirt and scratches also.

I would definitely suggest taking a look at parkers.co.uk under their Leasing power search. It does a good job of showing you the options.

Worth thinking about what the admin fee might be and any delivery charges. Is tax included, etc.

Unusual they offered pacific blue. Metallic is usually included as it helps their resale at the other end

They sure look bad when retouched - saw one for sale a few weeks back - a proper skoda paint chip retouch - you would have to be vlind not to see the mess they made

That works out at £237 per month amortised which is pretty good.

The days of great PCH deals seem to be waning, I'm currently 16 months into a 2 year PCH on a 2.0 TDI 150PS manual Octavia Scout estate @ £200 per month amortised.

I think we'll be buying next time.

Here is a 1.0 TSI (110PS) SE Technology for £207 amortised (10,000 miles per year), is the diesel worth £30 more a month?

I purchased my 6 month old Octavia SE with 10miles on the clock back at the end of February. I put a deposit down and got a personal loan from my bank. It will be mine with nothing to owe in 3 years. I tried PCP and didn't like it.

Yes, exactly what I did. I got 2.8% which is a pretty cheap loan. Car all mine in 3 years.

I applied for a Sainsbury's 2.8% personal loan and when the quote came through for agreement and signing it was 6.9%! So declined and went to my NatWest for a no hassle as advertised  3.9%. Not ideal but lower than some.

Looks like Diesel is rapidly going out of fashion. Crazy to get one now if you are only doing 10k miles a year.

Some would argue it's always been crazy. Didn't stop thousands doing it though.

I didn't particularly need or want a diesel but it was the diesel models Skoda were pedalling, promoting and discounting at the time.

Skoda UK were happy to sign me up to a 2 year / 8,000 mile per year PCH on a 2.0 TDI 150PS Octavia.

I'd have a petrol one next but they don't even offer the Scout with a petrol engine.

With petrol prices about to go sky high , people might want to hold on to their recent diesels .

@Kellyseye77 do you wanna bet petrol prices will go up further than Government taxes on diesels ?

Themanwithnoaim I think they'll go after both
