bits of metal in intercooler, should I be concerned?

Bv39 kkk turbo which iirc is what is in his Fabia vrs has two journal bearings or bushings one on inside of the compressor, the other on the turbine side.

I'll leave it to your engineering knowledge but I wouldn't leave it to chance as it's "OK, ignore the hysteria" if I found metal pieces in the intercooler and oil strainer. For the sake of removing a pipe and checking the compressor for damage and the shaft for play I know which I'd do but not my car or concern

Pieces of the compressor cannot migrate from the inlet pipework to the sump, there is no way for them to get there, they'd just get blown out through the exhaust system and end up in the backbox. No idea what the bits in the oil strainer were from but they can't be from a blown turbo.

The car cannot have a damaged compressor wheel so no need to pull the TIP, I don't understand why you persist with this magical thinking, if you understood the engineering then you wouldn't worry, the car blew a turbo, it was replaced, they didn't clean out the inlet properly, it's no biggie, just about every single VRS on here is already on its second turbo, the originals have all failed by now and they usually fail by disintegrating in exactly this way, those cars are all back on the road and have suffered no lasting ill effects.

So you're scaremongering needlessly because you don't understand what's happened. Please stop.

Thanks @sepulchrave I did trust your judgement but just wanted to hear the other side of it lol.

Regarding the metal fragments in the oil I just assumed from a video I had seen about cleaning the pickup that it was related to turbo failure.

Anyhow I appreciate everyones input I think Ill just go lie down and stop thinking about turbos for now
