Radio fuse

Featured Replies

As I'm trying to track down my battery drain, can someone point me at the fuse to disconnect the radio?

I've found the one under the bonnet and that seems to stop everything.

The one at end of dash shows "13 Radio & DVD", second down from top on left.

I'll try that one when I get home, thanks

Just tried it now - fuse pulled, radio stays defiantly on.

I spent a happy half hour a couple of weekends ago pulling fuses from the dash-end fuse box (trying to rule out confusion between a LHD fuse panel description in the manual and a RHD car) and none of them stopped the radio.

Does this help?

Amongst others, I've pulled out 13, 25, 2 and 24 in case the fuse box is upside down or mirrored or something but the radio carries on :-(

The only one that's stopped the radio is the under bonnet fuse :-(

You could check the wiring diagram on https://erwin.skoda-auto.cz, that'll confirm exactly which fuse should do it...

It was all going well until it wanted me to spend money :-)

Try fuse 8 in the E-box under the bonnet.

That one takes out the radio and a lot else (the engine stops for one thing)

I may pop the radio out and disconnect the wires from the back

Described as having 3 or 4 functions "Radio -R- , control unit with display for radio and navigation system -J503- , radio pre-installation for aftermarket units, heated windscreen relay -J47- , voltage stabiliser -J532- (for start/stop system)".  I guess the J532 is what's causing the engine stop.

Quite possibly, though I don't have stop start

I'll have a good read (though I'm not going out to play until it's daylight and no longer raining)

The don't necessarily suspect the radio (or may be i do), but as others have had current draw problems with the radio I'd at least like to rule it out.

At the moment the moment the main diagnostic tool is the CTEK battery sensor (which allows me to check the battery status without opening the bonnet or doors etc)

You're sure it is a current drain and not a bad battery or cell?
