Hi everyone,

After a long, tortuous experience I've rejected my Mk II Superb Estate 1.8 TSI 4x4 Elegance SM11 KDK, and as the dealer plans to offload it to an auction I thought I'd post here so that another unsuspecting buyer doesn't go through this again.

After approx 6 weeks it went back to the dealer for an assessment for excessive oil use. Although I never saw the official report, my calculations put the consumption at approx 1L / 140 miles. The upshot was, as expected, new pistons / con rods etc / timing kit (essentially a new engine) @ circa £3.5k +VAT. Needless to say the dealer deemed it not economical to repair and so I picked up my replacement Mk III Octavia estate yesterday.

Other than needing a new engine :D and an issue with the climate control the car was fab. One previous owner, approx 56000 miles, well looked after and well spec'd (the previous owner had even fitted a tow bar 5 months before trading it in:wondering:) so its a shame to see it go.

So if you see it popping up at auction or on the forecourt be aware of the work needed.

Gary

Anyone bidding at BCA should really be looking at Assured Vehicles.

?

Any chance of being told which Dealership is putting the car in with the known fault?

it wasn't a Skoda dealer. Evans Halshaw

Buy them cheap, pile them high, and if they are crap put them back around the trade.

Skoda / VW UK have a lot to answer for in the first place because they let the lemons float about the UK car trade catching out buyer after buyer.

They 'Skoda / VW' will even sell buyers a Used car Warranty......
